The same thing happened on St. Patrick's Day in 2007, when a full-strength Spurs squad dropped a very similar
home game to a Celtics team that was terrible and
openly tanking to get a shot at Oden/Durant.
For that matter, the 2013 Spurs dropped a
home game around this same time of the year by 30 to a Portland team that finished 33-49.
I'm not saying that the future for the 2015 Spurs will be the same as it turned out for the 2007 Spurs, but a loss like that one (as bad as it seems) doesn't necessarily mean doom.
Bad losses happen and one got the Spurs last night, who paid for treating that game -- from top to bottom -- as a formality.
