Not really surprising though. His injury had some pretty big implications when it was announced: 1) didn't allow him to practice shooting for 6 months and 2) it has probably altered his mechanics (whether due to physical limitations or just mental issues). It would be pretty astounding if he suddenly regained his shot at this point. He'll probably need a summer or so of being able to work on it to find his touch and get it the muscle memory down. Its not like he was always a great a shooter as last season, and the injury has certainly set him back in that regard. Sadly that doesn't bode particularly well for the Spurs come playoff time, but it is what it is at this point.

Patty, Manu, parker, and Belinelli are all rotation players who are performing worse this year. Kawhi, splitter, and green are performing better than last year, and duncan and diaw are now about the same as last year.

I just hope that balances out and we play near the level that we played last year. If we do, I think we have a good chance against GW and cleveland. I think we should win against anyone else, but everyone in the western playoffs is strong and capable of beating the Spurs.

No, he is still playing through this recovery. Repairing a torn ligament in your shoulder usually takes 9 to 12 months to fully heal. A lot of scar tissue builds up that restricts the movement of the arm, which happens to be his shooting arm. Spurs knew this, which is why the Spurs got him way below his Market value, especially after last year's final performance.

He is right at the point where his arm should be getting close to 100%.

But even despite his poor play, his presence alone on the Spurs bench boosts the team's morale 10 fold.
