I find it entertaining to see the old heads angry that Duncan is ranked ahead of Bird and Magic.

I was actually suprised. I expected worse from Bleacher Report, but I don't think it's terrible. I agree completely with the top 6. Here are my top 15:
1. Jordan
2. KAJ
3. Russell
4. Wilt
5. Duncan
6. Magic
7. Bird
8. Shaq
9. Kobe
10. Hakeem
11. Lebron
12. Oscar
13. West
14. Dr. J
15. Dirk
I think they have Parker and Ginobili about right. I have Ginobili finishing top-75 when it's all said and done unless he has an unbelievable Finals and gets himself a FMVP or something. Outside of that, I don't see him having a shot at finishing top-50. A lot of that is how he sacrificed as a sixth man to help the team. If he played somewhere else and also was injured less, he probably would have had a shot to crack it.
Parker still has a really good chance to finish top 50. He has a FMVP, which only 29 other people can say (and IMO was pretty close in 2013 to have a 2nd, which only 10 people can say). He's the all-time playoff scoring leader for PGs (ahead of Magic). He's the winningest player of all-time through 1000 games. And at 32, he probably has several good years left and a decent chance to finish with 5 or 6 championships and possibly finish with multiple FMVPs. If he adds another le as a 1A/1B player (and especially if he wins another FMVP), he's a lock for top-50.
Robinson is top 20 in my book. And as far as Duncan, I certainly wouldn't argue with people who put him over Wilt (people who valued getting better in the postseason/winning) and even people who put him ahead of Russell (the argument being that with 8 teams in the league, Russell winning a le is basically equivalent to making the Conference Finals in today's NBA to some degree). To pass Kareem and Jordan (in my book FWIW), I think Duncan would have to win a couple more les as the best player on the team, which would be really tough at this point. It's kind of weird, but I can actually see him making a case over Jordan before I can Kareem because Jordan has the holes in his resume, like being 1-9 in the playoffs without Pippen and having 5 seasons with a losing record (although in one of them he was injured for a lot of it). Kareem's only "hole" is that he got to play with Oscar and Magic, which actually is quite a huge benefit (two top-15 players). Duncan never had that luxury.

You're funny.
Kareem and Jordan are the only two players in my book that have a convincing argument to be ahead of Duncan.
Not a terrible list, but Bird and Dream are rated way too low.
For sure.
Hakeem got the rockets to 50+ wins only 5 times. One of those times he was injured for 1/3 the season and the team went 16-10. Those championships and great post season runs make people forget
I certainly didn't know this. Only 5 seasons of 50+ wins? It's hard to imagine that!
Good argument as usual.
I've seen him top 75 already on lots of lists (including this one) and considering how much time he has left, he should be able to keep adding to his resume. His record for wins through 1,000 games may never be broken. Lebron would be the closest right now, but he could win the next 93 games (that puts him at 1,000 GP) and still be 24 wins short. His playoff scoring will be really hard to catch. There's pretty much no chance that a player like CP3 will catch it because he can't put together a good playoff run. Same for Curry unless we see them start performing better in the playoffs. A guy like Westbrook may have an outside chance, but probably not. So I'm talking about some pretty incredible all-time records (winningest player of all time through 1,000 games and highest playoff scoring PG of all time). Add championships, FMVP, ASGs, All-NBA, etc, etc, etc and I think he's got it.
Timmy should be 4! but I can live with it
Manu IMO shouldnt be on that list, and Tony is like 80th
Ill just say this I'm 30 and in my life time I have only seen one player better than Tim Duncan
and thats Jordan, so in the last 25-30 years hes #2 in my book. I know greatness when I see it
Not a terrible list all things considered. I think you have to make 2 lists- one for peak value and one for career value. For example Duncan rates higher than Shaq for his career, but I still think Shaq was a more dominant player for a stretch, so he would rate higher in peak value.
As far as comparing players for different generations, you can't just dismiss the old players. Otherwise you might as well make a list of best players from the last 30 years.
Moses Malone always gets dissed on these lists. His credentials are pretty strong and he had a great career.
Another factor is that comparing players at different positions is impossible.
Happy to see Kareem at 2 because he was unstoppable and did it for a long time.
I would have Dennis Rodman higher.
Parker above Manu? This must be a regular season list. Would explain DRob over Hakeem too.
Hakeem and DRob were neck and neck their whole career. I'm not going to get into it all, but there's a lot more to the story than a couple of minutes of YouTube video from the 95 playoffs. Hakeem was inconsistent and an underperformer for much of his career. Robinson really was great and I think younger fans who didn't see him don't know. Just spend some time looking at his statistics.
Also you could say Robinson saved the Spurs and laid the groundwork for the incredible success they have achieved since 1999.
