It's been a GREAT run. Has any franchise ever done more with less? Who knew that a SG from Argentina and the 57th overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft would be one of the best and most creative players the NBA has ever seen? 2 time NBA All Star and 6th man of the year? Who knew a small French PG would be a 6 time All Star and Finals MVP? That the 15th pick in the 2011 NBA draft would be a Finals MVP/DPOY and hang toe to toe with the best player in the world? Despite never landing any big time free agent or top draft pick the Spurs have 5 NBA Championships. 4th most in the history of the NBA. Behind only historic franchises like the Lakers/Bulls/Celtics. 16 straight 50 win seasons. 18th consecutive playoff appearance? That's insane! And don't forget about our foundation, the one and only Tim Duncan. What can be said about the greatest player of our time? Words can't describe what he has meant to me and many fans all over the world. Just a professional in every sense of the word. The Spurs may lose tomorrow night but the Spurs will never be losers. Not ever. They're everything that's right with basketball and sports. A team that did it the right way. A team that did it the only way they know how. They did it the Spurs way.







Saturday night might be the end of an era. A day we all knew would come but somehow hoped it wouldn't. Maybe deep down even though it's impossible we thought it could go on forever. So even though it doesn't mean much coming from me I say we put aside our differences for one day or two and let's appreciate what we have. Let's reflect on all the joy this team and these players brought us over the years. The Spurs were there for me through some of the hardest times in my life. They were there when my best friend was diagnosed with cancer at 15. They were there when I was at a crossroads in my young life and had to decide if I wanted to follow those around me and end up in prison or if I wanted to do things right. They were there when I lost my grandmother who was one of the most important persons in my life. I'm sure they've been there for you too. So the least we can do is be there for them today and tomorrow night. Let's hope for the best.

If the team isn't victorious after Saturday's game, I sure hope that a million of us are there to meet them when they get in - to show our pride in them and appreciation of them.

These have been bittersweet games for me to watch. I found myself last night yelling at the TV with no one to answer me. My husband died very suddenly about 6 weeks ago and for a while I couldn't post or say anything in here. Now I have found the trollers and jumpers and haters to be somehow cathartic for my own grief.
Goofy, I know.

I have also found that I am willing to say things to people that my husband would likely have counseled against in the past.

Anyway, I will always be grateful to this team, and I would like to extend Rob's wishes to the guts of the game - win or lose - let's do it with some class for all the team members.

i think the Spurs will have a shot next season as long as Tim doesn't retire and it sounds like he still loves playing so I guess he'll be back. The only concern is Parker, especially if he's gonna play for France. Now that would be stupid. And Splitter just has to go. Paying 10 million a guy that is made out of glass and can't play more than half a game is just idiotic. I also hope Manu stays for the minimum and with a FA like Gasol or Aldridge this team will be even better.

They would have to add someone to have a shot next season, can't go in with the same core a year old and think it's a le contender when the West keeps getting better. Overall though I agree with what you said and noticed at the end you said add one of those two, that would be HUGE (Doubt it though). This team is good as is no doubt but if they finished 6th this year then it would not be much better next year IMO unless Tony turns back into his self.

Maybe, but Parker's contract still has 3 more years, which will lead to much of the same type of anger we saw in the Jefferson days IMO..
