If TD had John Stockton as his PG for the last 7 yrs, he would have numbers off the chart and would probably be a 5 time champion right now.
TD is the best ever, and by the time he is done, there will not be any dissenters.
K-9
Are you saying that being a little bit of center takes some greatness from Tim?
You've got to be kidding me.
And gold olympic medal is not that much important right now.
But yes
I would say it is
mailman
bob pet
sir
who are just under Tim on the list

When healthy I've never seen a better power forward. Guy was two blocked shots away from a quadruple-double in an NBA finals game. 21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 blocks.
1. Tim Duncan
2. Karl Malone
3. Charles Barkley
4. Bob Pet
5. Kevin Garnett
6. Kevin McHale
7. Elvin Hayes
8. Bob McAdoo
9. Wes Unseld (even though he played some center)
10. Davie DeBusschere
How about the fact that Duncan at his best is better than Malone at his?
What does your perception of 'choking' have to do with Malone's all time PF ranking? You really think Malone isn't one of the greatest PF's of all time because he underacheived in a few games against Michael Jordan's Bulls?
objectively:
Tim did look so hot in game 3-4-5 of the finals. It was pathetic to see him in games 4 & 5.
He is still the best PF!
Bill Simmons had it exactly right in comparing KG and Timmy.
"Say what you want about Tim Duncan, but if he's playing 75-80 games, the Spurs are making the playoffs no matter what. You can't say the same about KG."
If not for Jamie Feick, there would be no Tim Duncan (at least in SA)...
I really hope you're being sarcastic when you say this.![]()
You don't know me?
I'm surprised
The post was more about the joke.
I think I may agree with Timmy being the best all time... I don't know though... I think Larry Bird was pretty close... How many championships did Larry win? And... How many MVP's do Larry and Tim currently have?
I know.
Mine too
I remember the KG>TD talk from about 3 months ago![]()
I consider Larry to be the best small forward of all-time. Mchale gobbled up the minutes at the 4 spot. Larry played as much 4 as Tim plays 5.
Really??? I have been mistaken for a long time then... that was before my days as an NBA fan... but I was a big fan of recess!
truth.
Just for fun: my All-Time starting five (best player at each position)
PG: Magic Johnson
SG: Michael Jordan
SF: Larry Bird
PF: Tim Duncan
C: Bill Russell
sixth man: John Havlicek
btw, just off the top of my head, I think that is 28 rings combined in the starting five. Jesus.
magic
jordan
bird
duncan
robinson
with a bench of
kidd
kobe
pippen
rodman
olajuwon
^thats the stupidist question regularly argued in this forum
its like when garnett dribbles up the court the announcers are GUARANTEED to call him a "point center"
like if bowen is guarding ray allen he's a guard, shawn marion he's a forward
there is 3 positions in the nba
point
wing
post
mookie, have you ever heard of Oscar Robertson? Jerry West? Julius Erving? Elvin Hayes? Bob Pet ? Isiah Thomas? Earl Monroe? Kareem Abdul Jabbar?
Maybe your that's your fantasy "favorite" line-up, but if it's supposed to be the "best," I think it could be better.
i saw isiah and kareem play at the end of their career
the others i never saw play
it is my fantasy
i like big guards
Ok, well, there are some great players from the past.
And, this is just my opinion, but it's a crime to leave OSCAR ROBERTSON off of any "all time" list, whether you list him as a "starter" or off the bench. He is right there next to Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain when you talk about the BEST NBA PLAYER OF ALL TIME.
And, Oscar Robertson was a 6-foot-5, 220 pound combo guard, who played both positions. In fact, Oscar Robertson is the reason there even are players like Magic Johnson or Jason Kidd.
Just my two cents ...
Tim is still in his prime and is still able to put up monster numbers!!!
The reason why hes going to put up the same kind of numbers in the next six or seven years is because his game is so smooth and simple and so fundamentaly sound. All the moves that he makes are easy to him. He dosent have to jump that high to get the ball over somebody, he just does an up and under and bank there it is While other players like KG and Amare goes all out and crazy just to get one basket!!! He is so smart and knows where to position himself under the basket. He knows how to conserve his energy and body. He dosent waste it after every dunk, rebound, or block by screaming bloody murder and beating his chest or givin a gangsta sign to his homies watching at home like alot of the other players in the league.
But Tim does get over excited at times but only if its a big game. He has shown more character lately.
He is just a smooth criminal.
