Patriot George and the citizens of Lake Mary being given some respectful assurance as Aperson is charged with 2nd degree attempted murder.

"Our law enforcement community and the State Attorney's Office works vigorously to ensure people may travel our busy streets, going about their business, without fear. Every resident and visitor to Seminole County deserves this freedom," said State Attorney Phil Archer.

Man who shot at Zimmerman accused of urinating on neighbor's door
SANFORD – The Winter Springs man who's awaiting trial on charges he shot at former Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman is in trouble with the law again.

A pool man says Matthew Apperson urinated on his neighbor's front door one day while she was gone. Prosecutors have charged Apperson with disorderly conduct and are asking a judge to revoke his bond and throw him back in jail.
A hearing on that is set for July 31.

The woman whose door Apperson is accused of urinating on says she's afraid of Apperson because of months of hostility and odd behavior, according to her written statement to police.
She's lived in the townhouse next door to Apperson for 13 years, she wrote, but his behavior has become more aggressive, and he's seemed agitated and hostile since April.
He's blown cigarette smoke at her, muttered things under his breath and made obscene gestures to her, she said, things that have prompted her to install security cameras in her home.
Apperson's lawyer, Michael LaFay, was not immediately available for comment.

George Zimmerman testifies in Matthew Apperson hearing

Apperson to stand trial for attempted 2nd-degree murder

    Cliffnotes from September hearing:
Judge Debra S. Nelson ruled there was probable cause that Matthew Apperson should be tried on three charges. In addition to the attempted murder charge, he also faces one count of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Zimmerman testified for more than an hour, describing several incidents with Apperson, including one on May 11 where a bullet went through Zimmerman's passenger window and narrowly missed him, according to a police report.

Apperson's next court date is October 21.

Matthew Apperson found guilty of disorderly conduct despite 'shy bladder' defense

The Winter Springs man accused of shooting at George Zimmerman in a road-rage incident, was found guilty Wednesday of disorderly conduct for urinating on his neighbor's porch.
Matthew Apperson, 36, testified earlier in the day that he was diagnosed with a "shy bladder" when he was 8, a condition that should remove him as a suspect in the case.
Despite Apperson's testimony about his problems with urinating in public, the jury deliberated for about two hours before rendering the guilty verdict. Apperson looked back at his mother and wife and shook his head after the verdict was read.
Apperson was sentenced to 60 days in jail and was credited with time already served. But Apperson was remanded back to jail. He has been locked up since July 31 — on a judge's order — because he was charged with disorderly conduct while free on bond for the Zimmerman case. He is awaiting trial for the May 11 confrontation with Zimmerman as the pair drove down Lake Mary Boulevard. In that case, Apperson is charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle for allegedly firing one round from a .357-caliber handgun into Zimmerman's car from his own.

Apperson's mother, Janet White, consoled his wife who cried as Apperson walked back to the holding cell area. As he was taken out of the courtroom, he mouthed to his family, "I love you."

"He's not been convicted of anything at any time ever in his life, until tonight," said his attorney Michael Lafay, who plans to appeal. "They had one witness. They had no physical evidence."
A pool man who said he witnessed Apperson urinating on his neighbor's porch testified the suspect expressed defiance against police and the public before the urination on Sharee Rivera's porch on June 12. Anthony Woods, 63, told a jury he walked through a pool gate when he heard Apperson cursing. He said he saw Apperson "pointing his finger" at Woods before he urinated.
Rivera, Apperson's next-door neighbor of 13 years, found out about the urination incident after the pool man told her.
"Mr. Woods had no incentive to be dishonest. I think he told the jury exactly what he saw that day and the jury believed him, said Assistant State Attorney Matthew J. Futch. "I think that the jury returned the verdict that they thought was just."
During an August court hearing, Rivera told a judge Apperson has harassed her for years. He has poured hot oil on her plants, blown cigarette smoke at her, stared at her and tossed paper in her direction, she said.

Man Gets 20 Years in Prison for Shooting at George Zimmerman's Car

    By Lauren Messman
    October 17, 2016

The guy involved in a road rage incident with George Zimmerman last May has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted second-degree murder and a concurrent 15-year sentence for aggravated assault, CNN reports.

At trial in September, Matthew Apperson maintained he shot at the former neighborhood watchman's car in self-defense after Zimmerman pulled up beside him and threatened to kill him. Zimmerman testified that Apperson had seen him driving and pursued him, honking his horn and flashing his lights, before pulling a gun and shooting at the car. Zimmerman wasn't shot, but escaped the incident with a few cuts from the shattered window.

"The crux here is Mr. Apperson's blatant disregard for my life, any life... anybody driving up and down Lake Mary Boulevard," Zimmerman told the judge Monday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The road rage incident with Apperson is just one of many heated run-ins Zimmerman has had since he was acquitted for the fatal 2012 shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Perhaps most recently, Zimmerman claims he was decked in the face by some restaurant patrons back in August. Witnesses said the punches were thrown after Zimmerman bragged about killing Martin.
