Really there is no other explanation other than they quit. They have done it multiple times in the playoffs as you have seen. It's a ticker problem, the only way you fix it is by getting rid of such players.
I think back to other teams of recent Rocket lore and wonder how this one advanced deeper than those other ones.

I don't know, I saw the rotation on radar around Briggs/Andice but I think it came up 183. It got pretty sporty for a while, 75mph sustained winds.
