Your point was made though, agreed. Either or that one play gets him overrated in here like it won the series (It was a game they lost) single handily. This is like the so called Bonner game he started the first half and spread the floor (Diaw started the second and did much better) but was 0-3 shooting or so and some mention it all the time as to why he is useful. Those games get players overrated no doubt.

He dunked on Ibaka not blocked but honestly I agree 100% on him being overrated around here. He is a backup PG and some act as if he can start the whole year for the team. He is average with some good D, offense he is not that good IMO. When he comes in the O stalls it seems.
This post is also underrating what CoJo brings to the team. People wanted him to start the whole year because of how ty Parker was playing. No matter how much you view CoJo as a backup, he would have been a lot better than starting Parker.

CoJo was actually looking pretty good during the stretch in December when the team had to play without Kawhi/Patty/Parker. When he's put in the playmaking role, he actually is much more aggressive (he was one of the better finishers on our team this season). But yes, he does have a tendency to be passive. Still, I think he fit better with the starting lineup than this year's Enrique.

Yes Parker was bad but honestly Cojo is not leading a playoff team to a le, ceiling is very limited with him starting at PG IMO. He is a good backup. Patty should have gotten more mins in the playoffs IMO, Parker was horrible.

He did look pretty good in December you are right, not going to deny that there. That is a short sample though and I need to see more before I call him a starting PG. I agree on the Enrique thing too, once again not going to argue that fact of him being horrible this year.

Cojo is overrated around here tbh, his block on Ibaka notwithstanding.

First few minutes is exactly what I'm talking about with Splitter. Whether via screen, cut, or with the ball at the top of the key, he has a hand in almost every play. This is the definition of "doing the little things", and you can't teach a lot of this stuff.
Splitters usefulness is on the defensive end because he has good foot work he can stay in front of boys and is long enough to bother shooters. A majority of bigs can set screens and roll at 8-9 mil a year and usually have some kind of offensive game.

    Jeff Ayres: Cut

    Reggie Williams: Cut

    Matt Bonner: Cut

Aaron Baynes: Cut (keep only if the rest of the band is coming back)

Cory Joseph: Keep at almost all costs

    Marco Belinelli: Cut

    Kawhi Leonard: Keep (obviously)

    Danny Green: Keep

Manu Ginobili: I think it'd be best for the team if he weren't back unless he takes the min. Simply put, having him on the team means you need another rotation-caliber two-guard. Unless the Spurs draft one in two weeks, they cannot afford to give Ginobili cap space to be a half-rotation guy. Not this season.

Tim Duncan: Keep - Free agency is simpler if he's not there anymore. The team can almost afford a max for a free agent big while keeping the rest of the team intact. But he's still the best player on the team, so I don't see why you wouldn't want him to play for as long as possible. That said, the idea of adding a max player to a team with Duncan on it is impossible. So keeping him is trading away the chance to getting a star to pair with Kawhi for the next four year. But keeping Tim is the easy decision.

Why are you saying keeping Duncan means no max player? It's definitely not impossible from my understanding? Likely? Maybe not, but impossible?
