Barcelona was very nice, but really eclectic. They get off on the Gaudi stuff and it seems like the whole city has a funky design. Sagrada Familia was such a gaudy and busy design that it didn't even feel like a church.
Took the wife to Instanbul back in Feb for Valentine's Day. Love that city and will be going back in warmer weather. We have Berlin on the schedule for the Fall school break in October. Really looking forward to it.

Having lived here for two years, we tend to wear out visitors after a few days. So much to do here and it's a lot of walking/standing/queuing. Even for us, I feel like I have barely scratched the surface on things to do here. Unfortunately British food is and their national dish is curry it seems, and I hate Indian food. Other than that it is a great city.
Iceland is a mind-blowing chunk of lava
Yes that is definitely in the top 3
Athens - their economy sucks, but not expensive, good food, and so many islands to visit
Brussels - If you like beer...a must. Good chocolate and waffles too.
Ireland/Scotland - lots of green and mountains....beautiful
London/Berlin - if you like the hustle and bustle cultural centers
