Teams are the ones that do the reporting that goes into the accounting. They likely have known this figure since March and finally told the agents.
I think the point here is that we have been using ty numbers for the past couple of months.
If Splitter is unloaded then that is the trade. You resign Duncan for $8m, give Gino the lower exception or renounce him until you can use the exception, extend QO only to Verde and KL, renounce all other FA, and without Splitter's salary you are there at ~$19m in cap space. You can toggle Duncan's number to whatever to make it work.
Before the gap between cap and tax was ~$15m. If that goes up then it becomes easy to resign Green and KL. Their holds are both ~$7.5m. Green at $12m and KL at his max would have put us right at the the apron before but they may have even more wiggle to use the MLE with this news. The luxury-tax threshold, projected to be $81.6 million for the coming season, also is expected to be pegged at a significantly higher number, sources said.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a cap of 69.1M mean the Spurs can sign Aldridge to a max deal without having to trade away Patty Mills along with Tiago Splitter?
Spurs would need to use cap space to resign Duncan (reportedly for $6-$7 million) so they would probably still need to move Splitter.
If it's a $2m bump then yes we can which is huge for us. If it's a $1m bump then I'm sure we'll be able to manage it as we'll be so close to his max that it's basically all moot.
Since when we are discussing basketball in the Spurs forum ? thought it was a forum dedicated to Parker favorite sandwiches discussion
I heard he got back to his lightning fast days when he stole the last pork chop off of Kawhis plate...
We should be talking about how we're probably going to lose either Green or Splitter because of a below average fat point guard, tbh.
Ikr... it's a topic never discussed here... you should create a thread about it tbh
You're the one that brought it up, tbh.
It's a bit ridiculous that the league won't tell the teams at this point. I don't get the reasoning.
They have the revenue figures and they don't have to report them until then. Just ing with teams I guess.
He's not required to meet the cap, obviously. He'd like as much space as possible though.
I brought the fact we were discussing more about sandwiches than bb lately
never mentionned anything about losing green or splitter tho
but again create a thread... we explicitely said we should be... it means you feel there ain't enough of it

Impossible to tell now with 100% precision, but cap being at $69M vs $67M could be difference b/w Spurs keeping Mills and trading him.
How do they not even know the cap yet tbh?
