I love it. If goes back to Clippers he shouldn't expect to play anywhere else his entire career. This could also alter how free agency works as well.

Like baseball there are certain "unwritten rules" and this is a big violation of it. Once a player commits to another team you move on.

It's not exactly analogous but Boozer's stunt in 2004 was the worst I've seen in this league up to this.
Not sure why the "verbal commitment date" (July 1) does not align with the "actual signing date" (July 9) of a free agent. Can someone explain why they are different days?

But teams and players are allowed to come to verbal agreements during the moratorium starting July 1. Yes...but why couldn't they figure out the cap numbers earlier/later so July 1st or 9th is the day you can actually sign, instead of coming to a verbal agreement that's non-binding.
DJ will change his mind and go back to LA. Sucks for us but it's the better BB decision for him. Without him, Clippers are considerably diminished. Really hope he leaves but if he's giving them the time of day at this late juncture and having second thoughts it does not bode well for Dallas.
I can't help but laugh at the Mavs if he backs out. But what a move by DJ if does.
DeAndre needs to stop monkeying around, tbh.
