Game 5
That was a great series. The Spurs actually scored more points in the series than the Blazers. You only have to look at one stat to know why the Spurs lost:
The Blazers had 286 FTA's and shot .745
The Spurs had 202 FTA's and shot .693
The editing of that Game 5 video is horrible, it doesn't even have Wingate's three. I hate when NBA TV does that with their Hardwood Classics series. How do you not have the last 5 minutes of regulation and the first four of the first OT?
I thought the same thing. I mean, they had 6-8 minutes of pre-game talk that could have been edited out to make room for the last minutes of regulation and the 1st OT. I'd rather they cut some 1st half footage than the most critical parts of the game!
Whoever was in charge of editing that footage down to 2 hours should be fired...
The Hardwood Classics games on NBA TV are in general very poorly edited. I have a Hardwood Classics copy of David Robinson's quadruple double game and they actually ing edited the part out when he clinched the quad in the fourth!
they didn't use to be
I remember watching NBA TV religiously as a youngster in like 2001 and 2002 and pretty much every game was in its entirety unabridged aside from maybe a few occasional free throws by bench scrubs in the 2nd quarter, etc
I went that game 3. Great memories!
Funny thing is, those wide view shots of the Memorial Coliseum arena, my family's seats were immediately in front and to the left of that camera. I cow;don't lose...Spurs win and I'm happy...Blazers win and I get to go to more playoff games. That dunk by Drexler (or Kersey) after Rod turns the ball over was the loudest I ever heard that arena.

SMH man, Spurs and FT's who would figure. Till this day it still loses them a few series, never gets old.
That the one where Rocket Rod threw the no look right to Drexler? That sucked big time! (It was a game 7)
He just uploaded Game 7 today.
Pretty cool to get the entire series. I just wish he had a decent copy of Game 5.
I remember Willie Anderson on a breakaway at the end of regulation of game 7 and screaming he got fouled with a no-call that made it go to ot. I was a kid though and haven't seen that replay since.
Awesome series I was there for a 3 Home games Arena was Freaking LOUD!!!!!!
Wingate! I liked that guy. Nice flattop (and good from 3). I always wondered if he went on to start that chain of motels![]()
This is reminding me of the Spurs Jesus story from recently![]()
I hear ya! That San Antonio Light building is still down
there on McCullough I think. Interesting old structure...
Yeah, that was a massive bummer!
I never get tired of watching the Spurs, especially anything with one of the Twin Towers in it.
Well you have the '99 championship, game 5 in Manhattan, after Elliοt's victorious toss of the orange Spalding into the stuffy June air trapped in duh Garden... such a glorious moment, as one set of Twin Towers reigned in the ultimate degree of athletic triumph at center court inside the building, another glimmered on the exterior a few mere blocks away, almost as a victory cry to the world that America was the greatest, and the Spurs were the greatest of all in America.
& just a few short years later, both sets were gone. Amazing how Father time works sometimes.
