Gracias ElNono!![]()
The interesting thing about Manu is that he's the thinker on the team who is willing to share information lengthily about all the subjects about the team that we are interested in as fans. Not saying he has the best BB IQ (although I think he's at the top of the list) but he's the only one on the team who is ready and able to give us these insights.
im glad they're trying to be the best team they can be. quite reassuring
Thanks ElNono! I love when Manu writes. You can tell he always writes from the heart.
Parker is really honest, as well..
International players tend to be more interesting and open from an interview standpoint, across the league, in comparison to their American counterparts, tbh..they aren't groomed to be robot slaves that are afraid to be attacked by the American media if they speak their minds..
Americans love their boring cliches and repe ive press conferences and interviews..especially in the NBA and NFL, they love seeing s obeying their "superiors"..
Lol 5 games into the season and this guy is already patting himself in the back![]()
Popovich needs to do a better job at utilizing Aldridge. Aldridge led the league in 2pt fg's attempted 3 years in a row and for him to be taking only 10 shots a game is not playing to his strengths. Aldridge is an elite scorer and 10 shots a game is not cutting it. He could easily be averaging 30 points a game if he shooting more. When Kawhi is on the bench the offense should run through Aldridge in my opinion. Popovich is clearly wasting a max contract level, mvp level talent. Why pay max for a player that you aren't going to make a focal point? David West alone could be doing what Aldridge is doing -taking 10 measley shots a game. They could have saved 20 million a year... Ridiculous.
Go espurs go, tengo hambre. Me voy hacer kon fleys
Thnx Nono
They know they are under-utilizing LMA. Believe me, if the team's approach was to let LMA get his 30pts per night, in a new-to-him system, San Antonio's record would be backwards (2-5). They're slowly integrating him and his body language so far has been great.
If for some reason he did not understand what was happening, his body language would be VERY different.
Es todo mi rey, nice translation!
He's really defensive about talking the coaches into letting him play. Wonder if his fans were getting on their case about that.
I see it as him explaining what happened, because a really big deal was made by some press about it having to do with him and Pop not trusting Anderson.
Some went so far as to suggest the whole reason why Manu felt he needed to play was that he didn't trust Anderson and the rest of the bench at all without him. Manu doesn't mention Anderson, but you can see that he really goes into detail explaining why he really felt he needed to play, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with Anderson or Butler TBH.

Huge stuff.
This tells me Manu feels well and finds it a challenge to get the team working together. The new blood has got him excited. We can get another year out of him.
Then I think they should have worked more with him in the pre season to help make him more comfortable. All I'm saying is that they should make more of a concious effort to get him more shots. This is upto the coaching. And I think Popovich doesn't have a clue. He's never signed a new player of this magnitude so this is new territory for him to navigate. He likely doesn't want to sacrifice the team's chemistry to accomodate one new player, however a balance has to be reached and at some point he definately does have to look to help Aldrige integrate.
Thanks OP. Manu such a legend.
What's worse, Americans pretend to not like cliche nonsense, but the second anyone (particularly anyone "black" or mixed; the vast majority being too ignorant to either realize or acknowledge the difference, hence Obama being the "first black president") says anything outside of that, it's blown out of proportion.
I don't blame professional athletes for sticking to the script 99% of the time, particularly in this era, with social media and the general volume and intensity of sports coverage.
^ I fully agree, I would do the same if I was a professional athlete..there's literally no upside in saying anything interesting if you're an American pro athlete, or even a college athlete..partly because of fan backlash, but also due to media distrust, especially in today's environment of 24/7 coverage and politically correctness..
