Like I said many times on here, Rox wont le with McHale as coach or Howard/Harden as the 1/2 punch. Deeps used to argue with me that they are legit contenders, I still say no. Yes they made the WCF but so did Melo and the nuggs and ZBo and the Grizz. Were either team threats to win a ring?
Harden is a #2 on a le team and Howard a 3. If they can lure Durant and he stays healthy plus get a real coach the sky is the limit. Again i like Harden more than most on here (non rox fans) but he is not the MVP not this year or last and he is not a foundational build around superstar either. He is a legit star much better than Gilbert Arenas ever was ...but overrated by some underrated by many on here.
As for Howard ...told y'all about that ass clown. he never will be the Magic version and even that version had flaws. if this cat fully embraced a Tyson chandler type role he could still be a key piece of a le team. But will he he do it?
Once Howard and Harden assume their proper roles and a good coach will figure it out ... Rox will be fine.
He's the best shooting guard in the league and I think he can be a #1 option on a championship team. You just need your other players to actually play hard. Ty Lawson is the biggest disappointment so far, it's like he's scared to do his thing out there. Howard can't play back to backs and we still don't have a legit PF with Motiejunas out. We just ing suck right now.
Yes he is clearly the best SG, but heck at one point Dwight was the best center and he didn't ring either. Of course any great player needs a supporting cast. And maybe if the #2 is very strong maybe he could ring. But I doubt it. This is not a knock on Harden plenty of HOF players are not able to lead a le team. It was obvious he was much better than a third wheel that he was in OKC and he has proven to be a true star in Houston. But leading a team to a le is different. Dwight looks like he is now past his prime without accomplishing it we shall see if Harden can prove me wrong. Like I said i like him, So cal kid ... so I hope does especially if he does so without Dwight or McHale at his side.

The Lawson trade that D and other Rockets fans jerked off to all summer is looking like a disaster, dude can't D up or shoot. Harden is too reliant on the refs sucking his and sending him to the line 20 times a game, Howard leaving in the summer. Team needs to rebuild tbh

Not sure why Dwight would leave ... unless he thinks he can win a ring elsewhere. Like I said they have the #2 and #3 ...making the money he makes where else can he find a better fit? If they get a top line coach he might as well stay. Not sure he will get a better team-mate in their prime.

Less years is a paycut, and he got smaller annual raises than he would have had he stayed in LA.
Not really. Didnt he make more than he did the year before? Then, that is not a paycut. He took less money to go to Houston yes, but that is not a paycut based on the fact he still got a raise. Tim, Dirk took real paycuts. Heck even Kobe took one if we are being technical ... yes he is way more overpaid than Dwight but still took a paycut.

My best guess:
First, Harden did not come to camp in good shape, and still does not have tip top conditioning. He takes plays off on defense, and has less lift on offense. He may be 26, but that's when you have to start putting in real work for your body to keep up.
Combined with point #1, Harden may feel some social pressure from his new Adidas deal and all the hype.
Second, other players are in inconsistent shape (or like Dwight, have nagging injury), and do not know how to adjust to an offense where Harden is not supernova on a nightly basis. Combined with H-Town's streetball system, this makes the Rockets a mediocre team.
Harden is the leader, and if he isn't 100% perfect in conditioning and at ude, I think the team suffers.

I actually like Bradley Beal but to early to say he is better than Harden. Harden has a lot more responsibility in Houston. he also has stayed healthy with increased minutes. That video hitman posted is shameful. 2 seasons ago Harden was supposedly motivated by the vines and gifs of his ty defense and vowed to change...what happened? That summer he was going extra hard on defense and at least making a concerted effort, even for Team USA. Was that just to get the Adidas money?

Harden is too fukn immature with his obsession with fame, money, es and partying. He needs to grow the up and focus bc history may show ringless riches as his only accomplishments.

Morey needs to go or allow an excellent coach to coach instead just being a puppet for Morey- metrics. Said coach must be able to manage diva personas like Harden so he doesn't pout and demand a trade all while getting the best out him- including defensively.
This team needs makers, not shooters. We not only don't have shooters, but also lack any real shot makers.
We need DMO. He's a wizard in the low post and is the main reason we rolled in absence of D12 last yr
Beverley needs to prove he can stay healthy or get rid of him

T jones needs to play well consistently, stay healthy or he must go too
The team needs to get jacked for all teams not just the sexy opponents like clips, okc, Spurs etc on natl TV.
They need Durant, better coach and some shot makers that can d up if they plan on being a real team for the next 5-10 yrs
