If Boban's D were anything close to Splitter's this would be a relevant discussion. Splitter was also one of the best PNR guys in the league. Just sucked he couldn't stay healthy.
Boban's actual value is better than ter's actual value, projected value doesn't mean shyt if you stay in the training room.

The choice wasn't between Splitter and Boban. It was between Splitter and Boban/Aldridge.

Tiago was great at PnR defense and rolling to the basket, but he was a timid finisher, injured frequently, and didn't intimidate anyone but small guards.

Boban is literally scaring the bigs on the other team. They don't know what to do with him. He's tossing them around like a kid brother. He's an outstanding finisher. Great on the glass. Swift passer. A bit clunky on D in some situations but a solid shot blocker.

We talk about whether he's better than West? IMO it's clear he's better than West. West is an average PF in the league.

I'm curious if Boban is better than Aldridge. I don't say that to slam Aldridge either. Boban is just that impressive.

I'd say he might be, but idk. I could see a boburnout happening over time. He can't stay like this forever and making every shot.

Theres gotta be a reason he isn't playing as much as tiago was his first year.

Both are better than Aldridge's soft ass play at the moment.

Tiago rarely played with confidence. When he did he was an animal. People forget how good he was in the playoff run vs the Mavs and Blazers. There were a couple games where he was the Spurs best player on both ends of the court. He just wasn't durable or mentally tough enough.

Boban looks great, but we'll need to see him against top compe ion.

Tiago reached that level after 3 seasons with the Spurs.... We'll see how Boban's is doing after a similar stretch with more corporate knowledge

Dumbasses that don't recognize how crucial Splitter was in 2014 don't deserve to breath, tbh.

Basically, LMA replaced ter & Boban replaced Baynes. We all have to agree that they both have been upgrades.

Exactly. No amount of hand-wringing or spin will change the fact that RC & Pop did a great job in the off season, or that the Spurs are 27-6.
