it's concern for the people...believe me, i'd rather be on my way to the park and NOT watching this...I wish it wasn't happening....hopefully all will be well...
If we get breaking news of a massive earthquake in california, this is truely the end of the world, or at least the end of the country
it's concern for the people...believe me, i'd rather be on my way to the park and NOT watching this...I wish it wasn't happening....hopefully all will be well...
139 passengers plus crew on board...
Yeah this is pretty crazy that all this is happening at once.
I don't believe in the end of the world mumbo jumbo. But this sucks for a lot of peeps.
139 passengers 6 crew....
Let's hope for the best...
i believe you guys about no fuel dump system now...they are saying that the airliner is still circling longbeach...which would be to burn fuel...thanks for the 411.![]()
I care but my watching it will not help the people on board and nobody is making you watch.
It's going to land at LAX not Long Beach. They ditched the Long Beach plan because LAX as a much longer runway and more emergency prep.
Emergency landings are actually very common.. they happen everyday.. just you don't here too much about the successfull ones.
Yea you would want to bleed speed off before lowering the nose.. let the main gear do as much work as possible...
I have crashed many a times in the T38 simulator at Brooks from like landing too fast (well when I was first training on it).. ..
very true...this is crazy...
as for end of world, i'm sure that was just a bad joke...believe me, the WHOLE WORLD will KNOW when that day comes...
Can you imagine being on board, and knowing you're going to crash, but you have to fly around for a while to burn off fuel?
"I'll have 5 Jack and Cokes. Put it on my tab."
you are right nobody is making me watch...and I would be right to say I never said anybody was making me watch...
you watching won't help...you praying would.
sounds like a plan...

BREAKING NEWS
MSNBC staff and news service reports
Updated: 8:37 p.m. ET Sept. 21, 2005
A JetBlue flight with 139 passengers on board developed a problem with its landing gear and was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport for an emergency landing on Wednesday, officials said.
Flight 292, which was bound for New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, was expected to attempt an emergency landing, a spokesman for Long Beach airport said. MSNBC TV reported that the plane was scheduled to attempt the landing at 5:25 p.m. PT.
Jim Wells, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said that while a safe landing was expected, “we don't know exactly what's going to happen. Thats why we have these people there; we're not sure what's going to happen.”
Wells said many hospitals on the ground would be ready to receive passengers if necessary.
The plane circled in the area burning fuel, aviation experts said. The Airbus A320 is designed so that it cannot dump fuel. The flight had a full load of fuel for the cross-country flight. The aircraft has a capacity of 46,860 pounds of fuel.
The airplane flew past the tower at Long Beach airport, where officials determined that there was a problem with the landing gear, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Donn Walker said. The plane's front wheels were turned sideways.
Television images showed the jet circling with the front landing gear turned at a 90 degree angle from its normal position.
The flight, which took off from Burbank shortly after 3:15 p.m., was scheduled to arrive at JFK at 11:35 p.m.
this is crazy stuff thats going on, but like kori said not the end of the world
Why would it be designed that way?The Airbus A320 is designed so that it cannot dump fuel.
Please leave the politics out for now.. that's stupid when American's life are in the balance.
320 front office pics..
All airbus have side joysticks... compared to boeing's traditional yoke sticks.

I hope God himself takes over the Pilots Body and lands that sucker safely...![]()
Weight and cost are lower. The problem would be if you had a full load and one engine blew right at takeoff... The plane itself is so light and well designed it can normally land heavy with maybe blowing tires etc...
they are used predominantly in low fare airlines which can only afford low wage maintenance...meaning illegals...meaning siphoning of gas potential...meaning they need to be designed that way...:p
"Lives" are in the balance right now and yeah I'm watching.
I'm praying.
Whut sorry a typo.. geez.. I got a million things going on here at once gimme a break..
