-For a team 9 games above .500, the Grizzlies suck against playoff teams & losing Gasol doesn't help that cause

-Mavs are a injury prone team held together by duck tape & have been mediocre at home

-The Jazz will be moving on up if they get a starting PG (Burks returning to the lineup should also help)

-The Rockets are a carbon copy of the 2012-13 Lakers & their only hope of making the postseason is HarDone playing like last season

-Blazers are like the 2013-14 Dragic/Bledsoe Suns who almost got the 8th seed & play well at home against playoff teams

Mavs are the easiest opponent since Kawhi/Danny can lockup Parsons/Matthews & Deron Williams is washed up to feast against Tony along with Barea being too small to punk Patty. They can also attack Dirk whenever they need a basket & Boban owns their 3rd string backup bigs.

The Jazz will be a pain in the ass if they get someone like Conley b/c Gobert/Favors will give Tim/LMA trouble & Kawhi/Danny will have their hands full w/ Hayward/Hood. Burke also torched Patty & Booker can guard Boris; Burks can also neutralize Manu.

^^True..even ignoring matchups, the Jazz are probably better than those teams, overall..

I mentioned a few weeks ago how the Mavs were the luckiest defensive team in the NBA..meaning they allowed a high % of uncontested shots, yet teams were still missing against them..their defensive decline was inevitable, as they are now 17th after being in the top 8 or so earlier..they'll probably be in the 20s by the end of the season..

Yeah would rather avoid the Jazz..Their arena and al ude is a place to get a W in..we blew them out a couple of times but they were short-handed..I want an easy series with minimum travel to ease wear and tear on our old guys..Dallas/Houston is good matchup for LMA/Green to feast on their abysmal D..

They also have lucked out in OT games where they resort to jacking up 3s.

The Jazz would give the Worriers a compe ive series if they get a starting point guard consider how Favors punked Draymond & Gobert being a mobile big. Hood/Hayward can also outplay Klay/Barnes

Blazers are 6th seed but have brutal stretch coming..they need to beat Houston at home tomorrow to put good margin heading to it..it would 4 games distance on Rockets (3 in loss column + Tiebreaker)..

I think in the end Houston or Dallas will fall out of the race..

Looks like the Blazers will make it even with a trickier schedule..They have played well enough for a long stretch this season and would have had better record without Lillard missing 7 games..

It will be one of Rockets/Jazz missing the cut..

    March 7: vs. LA Clippers
    March 9: vs. Detroit
    March 12: at Indiana
    March 14: at Charlotte
    March 16: at Cleveland
    March 18: vs. Golden State
    March 20: vs vs. Portland
    March 23: at Portland
    March 25: at Golden State

Holy this upcoming 9 game stretch for the Mavericks! ..With their ty recent form, they are likely going under .500 (currently 33-30) and potentially out of top 8 by the end of it..

I still can't believe how bad the bottom 4 seeds are, tbh..there isn't a single good team competing for a spot..

In theory, the Thunder should worry me; but they don't honestly. I think Durant and Westbrook are already looking ahead to next year. The Clips would be a tough rematch; but I think we'd take them in five or six with many games being close.

Thus, for the brackets, I just look for who can tire the Warriors out the most by the time we play them in the conference finals.

Are the Grizzlies sans Gasol the worst ever Western conference 5th seed ?

Thunder and Clippers should be tanking to get that 4th seed, tbh..

The Jazz are the only team that would be a tough out since Gobert/Favors are rounding into form but their starting PG is Shelvin Mack.

They can play Burks/Hood/Hayward(point forward) during crunch time when Burks returns to mask their lack of starting PG.

I guess we're going to be cheering for Dwert/HarDone/Turtle Head in the 1st rd. (Hopefully, Beverley will do us solid like 2013)

As long as the Warriors don't play vs. Dallas or Utah, I'm straight..

Nobody will beat them or win more than 1 game, but at least Portland/Houston have some chuckers that could get hot..

Memphis is terrible, but maybe Tony Allen/Barnes/Lance/Z-Bo would hurt one of the Warriors' players(although they won't fall to 8)

Memphis actually has bad blood w/ the Cripples so, Z-Bo/Lance/Barnes/Tony Allen/Chalmers are bound to commit a couple of flagrant fouls on Blake/CP3/Re if things get out of hand.

If they play OKC then Barnes/TA are going to beat up Durant & Lance/Chalmers will get WestBrick thrown out. Z-Bo also almost killed Steven Adams in 2014 & Barnes wanted to fight Chewbaka.

    ?

    * Conley is out definitely with sore achilles ..need to find a way for this team to slide to 7th seed, tbh ...they have 6 games over Dallas/Rockets but i could see big losing streak coming with this ending schedule..Spurs should strategically pile on them next 2 meetings..They have 2 automatic Ls vs the Warriors..2 vs. LAC + 1 @ Houston +1 @ Dallas..
