Diaw/Mills/Green: would you be shocked if one of them is traded before the deadline?

i'd be interested to see if Pop trys to shake things up and moved in Simmons or Anderson to the starting lineup and go with a Mills-Manu-Green-Diaw-West bench group.

Simmons should start but Parker should also be benched, which will never happen.

Haven't watched much of Simmons but i have noticed he can get to the rim and finish. I have concerns about his shooting. Green and Mills are the only true sharpshooters on the Spurs. I'd much rather keep Green and hope he breaks out post allstar break nad the playoffs.

I agree that Green's shooting is extremely valuable to the Spurs. However, my concern is that right now he isn't shooting like he should be and he isn't contributing all that much in general. In my opinion, Simmons has many more skills than Danny Green does and can help in many more ways other than shooting the long ball.. I believe Simmons is good enough to start and could contribute at least what Danny Green is contributing as a starter at the moment. That's why I believe Danny Green has become expendable at this point. Now if Green can regain his form and can start hitting his 3's consistently again, then that is a different story. But it just seems that he's lost all confidence and to bring him all the way back to old form may take alot of coddling which is unfair to the developement of Jonathon Simmons who is proving that he can play. Simmons is quicker and more athletic than Green. He plays good defense he is good at attacking the rim, offensively he can finish at the rim, above the rim or absorb contact and draw fouls. He is also a good ball handler and can make plays for other players. These are all things Green cannot do. However although he can hit them, Simmons' 3 point range isn't very tested, and the 3 ball is a weapon that our team is extremely lacking right now. Maybe Danny Green can still fix his season, maybe Jonathon Simmons takes more and more of his playing time.. Who knows.... It'll be interesting to see what happens I guess... -if there is to be a trade candidate at all, my money would be on Danny Green. He's being paid a lot of money when Simmons could be doing the same job for a tiny fraction of the price.

Best scenario is for the spurs to lose all games before break. No one would want green w/ his contract and his current play. Diaw only fits w/ less than 5 teams.

Parker not getting benched. Green not losing starting job to a rookie. Green and Diaw aren't going any where. With the salary cap to keeping going up, Green salary will be way underpaid in a couple of years. At that time, his value will be peaked and we can get something back for him that is worth the money. Ray Mc is NOT 6' tall guard, he is 6'3. He is a 2nd year player and is doing a great job learning the system. Even then he is still the #3 PG. Given the year needed to learn the system, he will be fine next year. Simmons and Anderson are 2 solid players. Both have a lot to learn but are getting there. Mills is the only asset available for trade. He has some value but to who?? Only Pop knows what move if any is going to be made. Boban is a year away.

BTW Next time "Slo-mo" is on the court, watch him run. He is deceivingly quick on those long legs. And his shooting is coming around.

The undrafted Simmons has been a revelation, and Anderson has upside. Considering the Spurs’ ability to develop players, San Antonio would probably think long and hard about parting with either player if a team calls.

San Antonio has proven its ability to find hidden gems in past drafts and have former picks Nikola Milutinov and Livio Jean-Charles stashed overseas, so this pick has value to San Antonio, but if the right deal comes along ...

This is incorrect. Both Manu and Matt will be eligible for full Bird rights if they stay with Spurs through the end of the season. I have no idea what Yahoo is doing here.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Green or Mills traded. However, it would be highly unlikely. I don't see some trade happening as a knee jerk to the last couple games, but instead to tighten up the rotation heading into the playoffs. I feel any "problem" with the Spurs right now is they have too much depth. Too many cooks in the kitchen if you will; from game to game we never know who is going to step up and there is no accountability.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Boban traded. From what I understand he's on a 1 year deal and the Spurs don't have Bird rights for him. With the kind of attention he's garnered I could see some team offering him an offseason contract the Spurs just can't compete with. On his own he won't get much in a trade but added to Danny or Mills the Spurs could pull something nice back in return.

I liked the idea earlier in the thread about a trade centered around Danny and pieces for Rudy Gay mostly because it will move Kawhi to the 2 guard which is where he needs to be to really take the next step. I've wanted him at the 2 for a long time because physically there isn't one other 2 guard in the league who can keep him out of the post.
