Karl Malone, first ballot Hall of Famer, fam, and one of the 25 best players in the history of the game. STILL labeled as a CHOKER by other HOFers. Guess who was his punching bag? Admiral (I rest my case).

All along the Spurs have been winning so the Lakers/Dubs are a blimp on the screen

2003-2007 Spurs era.. Win two with that team then talk. Have the longevity of the Spurs or half of it then claim an era.
Crazy considering Dave missed Games 1 and 2 because he couldn't feel his ing legs. You go from that to guarding Shaq and it's soft?
actually they called the foul on bibby
2002 playoffs was my return to NBA ball since 94. As a laker hater, i immediately hopped on the twin tower band wagon and then onto the kings. the spurs were just too old and inept on the wings, and you have to beat the refs to beat the lakers, no way timmy was doing it alone. drob, parker, rose and bowen were the best help he had on that team, if you want to blame anyone for those losses look at smith, daniels, ferry and porter who all the bed on good looks.
the 03 roster is often used as an example of a star doing it all alone, but when you compare it to the 02 roster it looks luxurious, no doubt that if timmy had just one more decent shooter/scorer to punish the doubles and triple teams he could have taken that matchup.
Welcone to spurstalk brah.![]()
+1
Man, that series was BRUTAL!!
Got it.
(was a laker hater too)
At the time that 02 series with LA felt a lot like the 98 series with Utah. Even though they lost in five they gave a superior team a of a fight and you could just see both teams were building into something special. I just wish Charles Smith, Spiderman Chales Smith, not miss four layups in a row Charles Smith, hadn't gotten injured in that Seattle series. He was a real up and coming player and would have fit in great with the 03 team and beyond with his wingspan and commitment to defense. That hip injury really derailed a promising career. I'll still never forget the way he all over Jordan on TNT that one game.
One of the most frustrating series of all time for me as a Spurs fan. I really thought that was the year we could've knocked the Lakers once the Spurs stole a game in LA, but my god were they atrocious in those fourth quarters. I still remember the stat on NBC in Game 5 saying "Lakers first lead of series heading into the fourth quarter" and I knew we were done.
I remember Charles Smith being a fresh face on the team along Porker/Bowen but his emergence could have meant Jack never seeing the light of the day.
