True. By "regressed" I mean he moved down the list of best/most valuable players. Last year he was widely considered a top 3 player and was 5th in MVP voting. This year he's arguably not in the top 5 players and won't be a top 5 MVP. Thus, even if it's not his fault, he regressed.

Remeber Curry`s ankle issues
I suppose. And it's a widely held view. Which really speaks to how people evaluate individual success through their teammates.
People were adamant that this dude was legit MVP candidate to start the season ...I argued he was not because:
1. No way was this team was going to finish higher than 6th or 7th and only a small handful of MVP's even finish top 3 without being on a team with a record at least in the top 3.
2. Injury prone. Another argument was most MVP's only miss a small amount of games . As great as Davis has been at times he has missed significant chunks of every season. his career high in games played is 68 IIRC (regular season only) not sure if any MVP has ever missed over 10 games in the year they won the award.
3. Although I think he is the best player drafted since Durant I agree for one of the few times with Raven ...maybe Kiwi is actually the better player right now and I have to re-align my thinking. Uber efficient. the better defender. Healthier by far. Proven on the biggest stage and only getting better.
We have to keep in mind that up to this point Davis has had to carry more of his team's load than KL but now that Kiwi is the focal point on offense for the Spurs has that gap narrowed? Of course he has better coach and team-mates but right now if I could only pick one I am taking KL over Adavis as the best player under 25 in the NBA ... and maybe that was even before Davis was shut down due to injury.
great point. he is far from "done". Outside of Kiwi who else would you gamble on building a team around under the age of 25?
He is not as bad as some that are burying him right now ...but wasnt the presumptive NBA many on here argued either.
He still has a boatload of potential but like Curry he needs to get past these injuries.
I wish him the best because I do like the kid a whole lot.

Played like a boss. Loved the body english on the one 3 at the top ...great stuff.
The "torn labrum" surgery is , tbh..have you seen how Patty and Kobe recovered (not really) from it? he is sure going to miss the Olympics and might not get properly ready for camp.. it generally takes 6 months recovery and you are probably guaranteed few other months with "broken shot" that may or may not comeback..
Cleared.
