This was supposed to be a guitar thread I thought.
This guy isn't particularly fast but it's a cool technique.
It's been well established that you have no idea what the terms you say mean. You're trying to call what I said a fallacy while not demonstrating how. If you think I'm making an argument, then there has to be an argument I'm ignoring for it to be a strawman fallacy.
http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/straw-man.htmlDescription of Straw Man
The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and subs utes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This sort of "reasoning" has the following pattern:
- Person A has position X.
- Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X).
- Person B attacks position Y.
- Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed.
This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because attacking a distorted version of a position simply does not cons ute an attack on the position itself. One might as well expect an attack on a poor drawing of a person to hurt the person.
Now, if you are just trying to say that I wasn't talking about the same things you were, that's fine. It's not like I quoted you or in any way made it seem like I was talking to you.

I like Andy. Dude can really set the mood with his songs. I'll try not to feed into the distraction any more. Blake will even ruin his own threads with his act.
Love me some harp guitars.
Yep. Pretty chill. There's another guy who's way more known that does some similar things. Also brilliant. But I can't remember the guy's name.
You just said the definition I showed you was the only one. Now you're presenting another one.
Make up your mind, strawman.
Those guys played at my star gazing party.
Al DiMeola obviously.
What I said was that there isn't an alternative definition of the word -- it means what it means. But when you try to say someone is using a strawman fallaciously, you have the burden to showing that there is an argument that they're ignoring by using a strawman. What am I avoiding? Who am I trying to argue against by saying what I said? If your answer isn't somebody in this thread, then you are incorrectly calling what I said a straw man.
This thread wasn't about debating anything, except maybe guitars and styles of play. You're trying to ruin your own thread by turning it into a pissing contest with misused fallacies on your part. Just petty .
Sounds very appropriate.
Love me some arch-harp guitars even more, though.
Oh a wall of text. Who saw that coming
A simple strawman doesn't have to be a fallacy or some kind of attack against my op, genius. I have no idea why you propped up a strawman to beat up on.
Frankly I don't care why. I just think it's funny you did it.
Lol at thinking two paragraphs make a wall. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Lol butthurt
Yeah, that's probably why you keep saying that. I simply don't believe you go through your life shying away from anything longer than a sentence or two.
God you suck
Yeah its fun
It's stupid and useless. It's like stacking cups. Cool, big ing deal.
