Google is a powerful tool.
So he makes the spurs roster..
Google is a powerful tool.
Arcidiacono was one of keys to Nova winning the championship. His impact on their success was obvious.
He is basketball smart and really competes. His size is a limiting factor but he knows how to work open for his shot. Physical defenders with size will give him some trouble. He can certainly shoot with acuity. When your a Big East POY in your junior season, that counts for something.
Dude looks like a shooter. Could see him making the team if he can actually play point. There's little reason to send him to Austin, so keeping him as the third-string while Murray goes to Austin makes sense.
Dude has a good shot but way too unathletic.
2 year deal??? Potential patty insurance???
Only a small portion is guaranteed, similar to Bryce Cotton. Not uncommon for a priority UDFA whom a lot of teams are competing for. Has nothing to do with any of the current PG's.
My thing is the whole second year option. Maybe I'm looking too much into it.
The most annoying thing about this deal is that it's completely uninformative. Because it's a two-year deal, it can be signed while the team is over the cap without affecting the MLE or LLE. But because Arcidiacono is a rookie, the team does not affect cap space at all. It slots right into one of those roster charges. We can glean nothing from this contract, which I guess is just as well since this dude is most likely Austin-bound.
You are. They want to have the option of holding onto him if he explodes. But that year is almost certainly non-guaranteed. It's simply a sign of how little leverage Arcidiacono had.
Does this mean bye bye patty?
Spurs 3 deep at PG now
I don't know but something has to be up with all the guards.
He'll stand where I want him to on D. That's all that matters.
They have four PGs (and that's if you count Murry and Arcidiacono has PGs when they are really combo-guards), which isn't even remotely abnormal for an off-season roster. In fact, I think they'll add at least one more.
Had a TS% of 59. That would've been fourth-highest on the Spurs last season.
I liked Ryan, glad we picked him up tbh, no idea how our team will look next year but I like how we are making some moves.
For his college career he shot 39.7% from the field and 35.8% from three. He's also no spring chicken.
Oh well, at least we won't have to see Bertans' older brother again.
Hey now, Dairius had that one good game....
I think Arcidiacono really showed a lot of progression from year-to-year. Those first two seasons were unimpressive, but he showed himself to be pretty efficient after that. Really curious to see what he does as the tertiary ball-handler in the summer league.
WAO!! ! This is certainly a Simmons like agreement. They need someone to be ready sooner bc Dejonte is more of a SG and he's raw, needs to develop. I think Chinook is right that they are looking at someone a little bit more mature so they can send Dejonte, the much higher upside, but raw kid to the dleague to work on his game. I wonder about this now bc they scouted Ulis a lot allegedly and were probably ready to take him but couldn't pass up on Murray who has a high ceiling if he can reach it in a few years.
He played against future NBA players, so that's a good start for me
I need contract details though, Spurs can't be wasting money like this or Green is going to have to get moved to have space for a max contract
Got it. Maybe I misinterpreted and read too much into this.
Bryce Cotton signed a two-year deal with the Spurs on 2 July 2014.
Hes a control the pace player - he doesn't score. Engergy guy.... I don't know how you take him as a combo.
