They can't get another near max contract if they get Durant, Jamison Crowder isn't a great defensive player, and they're mostly out of picks now... they're a middling East team without Durant and will be a distant #2 behind the Meat Cleavers with him.

He might prefer a business meeting to a bunch of guys staging a high school pep rally. I'm sure the Spurs presented who they are, and didn't bull him. That takes a lot less time, and if he wants what they offered, he'll be in silver and black. If not, the presentation wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Much of the appeal for Durant in OKC has to be Westbrook staying there long-term from a compe iveness pov. Without that assurance, there is a decent chance he leaves. I would think GS is the top choice outside of OKC as has been reported.
Anyways, the new cap NBA is insane. Good thing the Spurs locked in those guys last summer at the old rates.
