Kyle will need a breakout year if he expects to get a nice contract or stay with the
Spurs. He need to show more upside in his game. Move your ass Kyle!

There are 4 votes for start player, one is mine.

Star is a very broad term. I think he can be a legit starter on a good team and more/better than a role player, that means a star player? IDK but the other voting options didn't convince me.

My guess is Boris Diaw will be his ceiling. I would in fact be surprised if he becomes as good as Boris.

If sophisticated NBA front offices like PATFO can't see that he absolutely isn't a SF, then he'll be lucky to sign 3 NBA contracts. Pop has steadfastly refused to play him consistently at PF and it has probably set his growth back at least a few years.

Kyle's been great in the last 2.25 games. I think he'll be fine going forward.

Agreed, he is a combo forward but is more suited to play PF due to his lack of quickness and foot speed. Playing him at the 3 is just pushing his full development back further and further. He needs to learn how to play inside (post defense/offense), making correct interior rotations and the nuances that he can't/won't learn playing out of position at SF.

Yes, physically he can play that spot (6'9", 230 lbs and 7'2.75" wingspan) but he is too slow, tentative and unathletic to excel out on the perimeter.

If and when Pop (or another team's head coach) decides to play him exclusively inside then Kyle could reach a solid spot of 6th man and occasional start. His ceiling skillset wise is close to 2013 Boris Diaw (not as good in low post offense) or a poor man's Draymond Green.
