Speaking of meltdowns I went to the Chernobyl museum this week in Kiev. When that reactor was sinking into the earth in 1986, they ended up sealing it off in a "sarco us." It was relatively easy to put sides and tops on it, but in order to build the bottom of the sarco us they had coal miners dig a tunnel underneath a freakin' sinking nuclear reactor that was giving away radiation 100 times that of the Hiroshima bomb.
