Yeah, that was the first interview of his I have seen. I hope his play will continue to grow into those interviews.
lol, threads like these which have actual basketball discussion (as opposed to trolling threads and comments)?

Pissing on one aspect of his game. Dude isn't immune from criticism.
Threads like these which have someone making a complete knuckle out of himself by nitpicking a guy who played great and then saying that he had the second worst screens behind the best screener the team has ever had?
Yeah. Gotta vote with the "OP is a got" crowd on this one.
Screens aren't my big concern with Dedmon, it's his inability to protect the rim that has me concerned. Even DRob could protect the rim better than Dedmon.
Dedmon did fine tbh. We finally have a tough big on the bench the does the dirty work. He did decent covering Cousins
Never said he was the second worst screener. I said he was THE WORST.Reading comprehension's not your strong point.
Other than his screens, he played great. Kudos to him.
Let's see if he improves. LMA set the matador screens last year, but has been much better so far this year.
Just watch some JohnRambo vidoes on youtube, where Splitter`s PnR are pure gold to watch
I'd trade Pau, Dedmon and Lee in a heartbeat for a Prime Tiago that would give me 76 games and a full post-season. In a goddamned heartbeat, "soft" or no.
Anyway, I actually thought Dedmon screened fine. It's just that people didn't really want to use his screens, so he just kept diving. Had it been someone looking to actually attack instead of pass, they'd've been able to get open lanes.
Splitter had a reputation for getting injured easily, which he did. But he wasn't soft by any means. Dude banged with any big man you matched him up against. The reason he rarely dunked it was because he has small hands so he couldn't really go up with just one hand and palm the ball, it was much quicker and easier for him to lay it up. Your Splitter takes are trash
Spurs fan took Tiago for granted, tbh. Didn't know what we had until it was gone.
Come back home, Tiago.![]()
Is your next thread going to be "Patty Mills is a terrible passer" after a game where he goes 10/10 from 3 and has two steals?
You may not have been intentionally trolling, but this thread makes no sense. The only player on the Spurs without an apparent weakness is the guy with legitimate MVP consideration.
Dedmon, poor screener or not, is a very valuable asset to this team for the unique things he does bring...mobility on defense and shot-blocking. You should try focusing on that.
Dedmon is still relatively young and will get better with Spurs coaching over the year. He seems to be a guy who could develop into an enforcer type center (like Willis) and it would not surprise me to see him as our starting center for the long term.
Indeed.
Terrible strawman. No, calling out a player's weakness, which he could improve upon, is not trolling. Never said he wasn't a valuable asset to this team. If Patty, as the point guard, averages 0 assists per game, but scores 10-15 points per game (more realistic), someone should create a thread criticising his selfishness/lack of creating for his teammates.
That's interesting about his hands (no sarcasm). I'm not too far from being able to palm the ball, and I'm not even 6' tall.
How come a 7 footer cannot palm the ball?
Small hands obv
Hehehe..
How come a 7 footer has hands so small he can't palm the ball?
There's "palming the ball"... then there's palming the ball with control. He doesn't have micro-hands, but they are small for a 7-footer. For whatever reason he just couldnt palm the ball with control. It's why whenever he dunked with one hand, he would more or less guide the ball in. It was also rare. Like the time he got stuffed by Bron.
Thanks
