    took a on Chris Weinke

When Dallas played them in the preseason and I discovered that Weinke was on their coaching staff I legitimately got a chuckle out of that.. Just goes to show that anybody with any amount of NFL experience has a job for some team out there

This is like Vince Young teaching a savings and retirement course
Could also liken this to Steve McNair teaching a self defense course
Like Adrian Peterson giving parenting lectures
Like Dominique Rogers-Cromartie teaching about abstinence.

Doesn't erson have a history of butthurt tho? I thought he had some falling out with his college alma matter too.

BSPN had him on a phone call with sort attractive looking black host Cari Champion

Next that stpopid phuck Keychain Johnson came on. Was starting to sound very whiney and you could sense the race card was being implied. The host just pretty much nodded and agreed.

I knew Hayes was fast but had no clue dude was that quick. Some say players get bigger, faster and stronger but as far as speed goes these guys hold up against ANYONE IMO, even Darrell Green who was the fastest man in the NFL for how long? I know Willie Gault was very fast too and did some running. I also remember Mike Quick for the Eagles being a very fast wide out but no clue how fast he ran or if he ever ran track. Those guys come to mind when I think of speed. I remember Carr too and Homer Jones, all the names you mentioned I studied in the book I got that told the stats throughout NFL history and year by year break down.
Bob Hayes was histories first sub 6.0 60 man, and held 13 WR's in his day. His 4x1 anchor leg at the 64 Olympics is still considered the greatest anchor ever ran, he came from way back to blow by everyone.

Darrell Green ran a 10.08 at Texas A&I and if he'd been more serious about track, he could have been a great sprinter. He knew football was his $$$$,

Willie Gault was a hurdler first and a sprinter second, a stud at both.

Hayes was 5-11 190 pounds and as physically imposing as anyone out there today.

Quick never did anything to speak of in track.

Due to injuries to our 100m cats Mel Pender (Army) and Eagles to be RB Trenton Jackson (Illinois) we had to run our 200 guys Richard Stebbins (Grambling) and Paul Drayton (Villanova). Which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, that put Bullet Bob behind.

I have no doubt Hayes for a time was faster a few years but this reply on Darrel Greens video made sense, with pads on......

50 year Cowboy man here. Darrell Green is the fastest of all time and there is not anyone even close with pads on, ever in the history of the game. I watched an early 80's, mid 80's show on TV that had the top players in the game. The USA Olympic relay team plus others at the time. I believe Renaldo Nehemiah, Wille Gault, Carl Lewis, Edwin Moses, Sam Graddy, Hershel Walker and a couple others ran a 100 meter sprint. With no form at all Darrell Green blistered the fastest men in the world, four of which had just won a gold medal. He is first team all time on my list of Hall of Famers. And I am all Cowboy

Green is one of those....what might have beens. While Bob Hayes was this....

Look at all those world records and he broke the 60 WR three/four times. First sub 6.0.

As far as Green running with Carl Lewis (drafted by the Cowboys), he wouldn't stand a chance, Lewis was a 9.86 cat, that is a whole other level. Yes Green could hang with the others ya mentioned, none had a faster 100PR than he did.

Darrell Green is the fastest DB to ever play football. Deion ran a 10.26, James Trapp a 10.14, Terrence Newman a 10.20. They are the fastest.

    Darrel Green

    http://trackfield.brinkster.net/Prof...&EventCode=MA1

As ya can see Carl Lewis was something totally different.

    http://trackfield.brinkster.net/Prof...&EventCode=MA1

Getting back to Darrel Green, here he is.......

All those at sub10.10 who played in the NFL.

    Trindon Holliday 10.00 LSU/pick one
    Jacoby Ford 10.01 Clemson/Raiders
    Bob Hayes 10.06 FAMU/Cowboys
Ron Brown 10.06 ASU/Rams and Raiders
    Alvis Whitted 10.07 NCSt/Raiders
    Darrell Green 10.08 Tex A&i/Redskins
Sam Graddy 10.09 Tenn/Broncos and Raiders

I can't count Jimmy Hines (Dolphins) histories first sub 10.00 with his 9.95, he did next to nothing.

Look at the Raiders, now add...

Cliff Branch 9.2 yards (the WR was 9.1)
    James Jett 10.16
    James Trapp 10.14
    Willie Gault 10.10

Some countries can't compare to that, dead serious. And they have another half dozen like Bo Jackson, Alexander Wright, Rocket Ismail.......................

Holy that post just made my damn night... Great info.

I think most were right when they were saying with Pads on as far as Green goes, take the pads off and race flat out Hayes wins in his prime but with those pads man Green was faster than his comp out there. Great you mention Cliff Branch too, that was another speed burner in his prime and could flat out fly. I know Mark Duper ran track too, he was not AS fast as those guys but for a 5'9 guy he could flat out RUN. There is a few others that are slipping my mind probably but these guys mentioned were just the cream of the crop when it came to speed. I know Ginn was fast as when you saw him returning kicks and going vertical, no clue his top speed though and he refused to race Chris Johnson one on one I believe. Keep talking speed guys man, this never gets old when it comes to football with me.

    Cool~~~

There is no way of knowing what these guys could run in their prime with pads on. Keep in mind Hayes was a footballer first, track was his other sport.

Duper ran on the same NWLa 4x1**** (won the NCAA) team with Joe Delaney a Chiefs RB and another NFLer to be Victor Oatis, forget the other guy. Duper and Delaney ran a 9.4.

Ted Ginn was more of a hurdler than a sprinter, not really fast when compared to fast guys. Johnson a 10.3ish cat at which is good but nothing great.

Talking the old 100 yards cats.

Yep, I know who Ron Brown is too! Another receiver/return man. Damn man how the do you get all this info? You are the book! I knew Duper was fast being a Fins fan too, had no clue he was that damn fast although on his rookie cart I have it did say on the back that he ran track so I knew he did based on that. None of the modern cats as great as they are can fly like these guys, athletes get better and so on but as they said you can't TEACH speed so that rings true today. Ginn just looks like he is flying because of his stride and longer legs I guess! He is fast but not on those guys level. Chris Johnson doesn't have shi*t on Walker at the RB as far as speed goes.... I bet erson outruns him too easily in his prime. Them dudes were fast as man, damn...... I am going to watch Bob Hayes highlights now, dudes speed was flat out amazing. That Darrell Green clip I watched too as the #1 speed guy was just crazy, dude at 5'8 was incredible and he didn't have the longer legs the others had.

Been into speed and football as far back as I can remember, I was a sprinter, footballer. I keep up with sprinters IN football, call it a hobby.

The key to 100m sprinting is speed endurance not stride. We have seen tons of great sprinters at 5-8ish and shorter, Ira Murchison a 10.1 WR holder was only 5-4.

Getting back to speed endurance, that is the ability to sustain/maintain a high % of your max velocity. All sprinter hit top end at around 60-70m, then it's all about who decellerates the slowest, that is where speed endurance comes into play and why 100m cats who also train for the 200m have a huge advantage. Those who can hold on longer to their max velocity are the ones who win the medals and set the records. Obviously a 40 or a 60 is different, there it is all about acceleration.

A fast footballer like a Ginn or a Johnson could hang with a world class 100m sprinter in a 40, but the difference in that speed endurance would start showing up before the 60. And a lot of great 100m sprinters are only 4.3 guys in a 40, their game is that abilty to maintain that top end longer.

Yes ya can't teach speed (meaning making a slow guy fast) but ya can take a fast guy and make him faster, that is why 100m guys run those 300's in training. The longer they can sustain that max velocity the faster their times will be.

    She is 5-3.
