So you don't mind presidents receiving payoffs from businesses and foreign governments. That's good to know.

It has everything to do with it ya damn cabbage brain. It's one of many tools we have for scrutinizing our leaders. It turns out to be super important in accessing financial information.

    What do you not get?
It has never been required for a president to release his tax return. Do you not understand this?

I'm following perfectly well. You're coddling the President Elect based on legality, when legality is irrelevant to the conversation.

    Legality is the only relevance.

Since when? We never criticize elected officials for anything they're legally en led to do or say?

This is some desperate semen shielding. You might as well just do this:

Change the law if you want it to be relevant.

It is relevant. Just not to you (because ).

I don't think it should be legally required anyway. I think it should be done voluntarily as it always has been, and I think refusal to do so should be followed bipartisanly with questions of "Why not?" and "What are you hiding?"

    You don't think it's relevant?

Well it will be just fantastic for our new president being accused of colluding with a company or foreign government at every turn.

Sounds like you want Trump to drown in the very swamp he was supposed to drain. So, I understand. You voted for Hillary.

so we can see the candidates' vested interests. So we can tell, possibly, how the person we elect uses power to feather his own nest and benefit his friends.

    Aren't you curious about this?

    If not, why not?

It's perfectly legal for NC legislature to strip the incoming Governor of power when their guy loses the election. That doesn't mean it's honorable or wise.

It might be legal for Trump to declare martial law, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. Norms matter too. The law isn't everything.

Same went for Harry Reid going nuclear on fillibusters of Presidential appointees. Guess he never considered that could backfire...

You're the stupid one thinking Reid, Dems killing the filibuster somewhat would not backfire.

And you certainly don't understand why the Senate Dems did it.

I have no doubt the Repugs will kill the rest of the filibuster rule, but of course you would say they couldn't see that backfiring.

Bull .What the NC lege is doing isn't payback for what Reid did in the Senate. It's a pure power grab, born of losing an election in NC..
