Serbian, Latvian - heck not one American in ten can identify either country on a globe! I wish you (or somebody) would send Sean and Bill - literally everybody who covers the Spurs - a tweet about the proper pronunciation of his name. It irrelevant me to no end that guys who cover the team don't have the sense to get the home guys' names right!
How do you pronounce his name? Is Davis pronounced the same way Anthony Davis' last name is pronounced?

Its setting up perfectly for another team to give him some crazy offer and us to lose him in the offseason
    What contract is he under?

Fully guaranteed two year contract, so not a FA until after next offseason. Even in that case, he'll be restricted so Spurs can match any offer he gets - though they won't have full Bird rights.

Sean called Beno "Ooo-dree" for his entire Spurs career when dude clearly stated his name was pronounced "Ooo-drick"
I remember Beno himself pronouncing his name with a breathy 'h' sound at the end, no hard 'k' sound.

With the accent on the second syllable and the "i" pronounced like an "e": da VEES.

Latvia is on the Baltic Sea. Nowhere near Serbia.

Here is a Latvian guy pronouncing the name. His accent is thick but that's how they'd say it in his native country.

He's shooting just shy of 40% on 3 (.396) after this game and .441 overall.
thanks, don't know what 16-17 stats I was looking at

Anyway, here's hoping he has discovered that he can and will play a huge role this season.

Watching condensed video clips of a single player can identify trends and tendencies that aren't apparent when they are imbedded in the game and separated by other game action. In this highlight clip of Davis against the Hornets what really hit me was how many of those highlights involved Bertans and Simmons working together. They show an obvious synergy.

Hope Bertans can stay healthy for a long time and continue to grow in the Spurs system. Perhaps he also has something to do with Simmons' improvement. If so, I hope that impact continues, too. They sure look good together in those clips.

That's what I'm referring to. They asked him on the telecast how to probounce his name, and he clearly pronounced it with a K.. I'm sure someone from there could shed some light on it

His impact on the team is unbelievable. We look much more capable on both sides of the ball when he's in.

Having length on the court is so ing important and it shows.

True. He and simmons really worked well together yesterday. (Simmons lead the team in assists and Davis in scoring, not a coincidence) Hopefully we see a lot more of that pairing.

Hope you saw the Latvian pronunciation of his name at the link I posted.

And Davis assisted Simmons on his 3.

Yes, I listened to both the Davis and the Kristaps audio links. Thanks.
