yeah, i agree with that.
There are teams who would swallow Parker's contract in order to acquire LMA. That isn't the issue with your proposal. PATFO is. They simply won't trade Tony, and it is extremely doubtful that they trade LMA - as much as many of us would love to see that happen.
yeah, i agree with that.
And this too
Pops strategy: As soon as a player gets hot.. Send him to the bench
My strategy: As soon as a player gets hot, keep him off the bench.
Second best record in the league with over 70% win record and very impressive road win percentage tells me that the general direction of the team is almost perfect. Sure there are small hiccups when players don't play well in a game or get injured, but the redeeming feature of this team (as always) is that Pop limits minutes of starters and that gets the bench a chance to learn and improve against teams in games that aren't garbage time. Look at how the bench paid dividends against a very good Raptor team on the road.
My only suggestion is that Pop continue to experiment with lineups. We are almost guaranteed another 50 win season and a playoff spot. So he won't be tanking the season if he gives increasing minutes to Dedmon, Murray, Lee, Bertans, Simmons and maybe Forbes. The only advantage we may have against GS is in our depth and long front line. Finding the sweet spot in the squad's starting lineup and in our best second team is going on already and should be a concentration over the next months.
/smh!
Conveniently omitting Anderson who was a big contributor to those wins.
I have woken up and smelled the coffee. These guys are for the regular season and some injury or energy relief or playoff garbage time. They need to continue improving bc you never know when you need them but Pop's rotation is pretty set when everyone is healthy. I'd like to see more Murray but he's in the end of the bench even when all the other Spurs guards are ting things up.
You're right. Anderson played pretty good in those wins and throughout the season has been steady and improving on shooting from 3 pt and shot selection. Still don't know if he's made himself "non-tradeable" or "non-waivable" for the future, but he's pretty secure through this season I think.
I also think you're not as positive about some of these youngsters as is merited. I think some will show enough improvement over the regular season to see some action during the playoffs. At least I hope so.
magic interested in moving ibaka, spurs are said to be interested.
i don't think the magic would take gasol... who's their starting PG, dj augustin? tony would be an upgrade, play with fournier. anderson has been playing better so i'll throw him in, a 1st, and a 2nd:
creates something like a logjam at the 4/5 for us, but we could figure that out after acquiring serge.
Do you watch other NBA games at all? Spurs aren't trading TP and even if they would, ORL has Elfrid Peyton as well.
Plan is to exit early in the playoffs, take a long vacation, rinse repeat until Manu and TP retires then build around Kawhi. Hope Kawhi is not a Laker by then
