Backup sf?
That's it?
Love can at least start and has very decent games occasionally.
Yep. But Melo is the better low post scorer or at least used to be ...its?mostly a lateral move but if you sit LeBron for a stretch Melo can be a primary scorer still ...

What do you lose if Melo played pf? Rim protection?
Maybe 10 lbs now that Love has slimmed?
Some rebounding?
I don't thinks it's a great or bad trade ...just saying I think LeBron could make it work .. but they probably jot repeating trade or no trade if Spurs or State are healthy in June ...so a shakeup might be in order.
Would you do Melo for Shumpert, Frye and RJ?
Cavs would be paper thin but a line-up of Irving, Carmelo, Lebron, Love and Thompson (Small lineup of Irving, JR, Melo, Lebron and Love) would be just as potent as the GS line-up. Carmelo has proven, with the Olympic squad, that he thrives playing as an off-ball player.
Although a three-team trade might be better for the Cavs.
For all the hate he gets, Love actually played some clutch defense and had some huge rebounds in game 7. He defended Stephen Curry beautifully on what would have been the game tying 3. And he's an NBA champion because of it.
Cavs get Melo, Holiday and Vujacic
Knicks get Shumpert, Frye, RJ, cash and a 1st rounder.
Knicks get decent players, cash, a 1st rounder and a trade Melo accepts.
Cavs get Melo, a playmker in Holiday and a championship experienced shooter in Vujacic.
Cavs starters
PG-Irving
SG-JR
SF-Lebron
PF-Love
C-Thompson
Bench
PG-Holiday
SG-Vujacic
SF-Korver
PF-Carmelo
C-Birdman
Death line-up counter
PG-Irving
SG-JR
SF-Lebron
PF-Melo
C-Love/Thompson

Exactly, some of the time he puts forth max effort.
The rap on him is he is treated like and paid like an A star, which he clearly is not.
A decent B player, sure.
Same with MarshMello. Who might even drop down to C level.
Now, a question is how hungry would Marshmello be and would his effort double and triple if he knew a Championship was within his grasp? It's possible but i think given his history he is second only to Kobme in selfishness and punkassedness. He could prove wrong by putting for max effort and winning with Cleveland, but obviously they are not willing to chance that. Even with he and Bron being butt buddies. Speaks volumes.
Very true...but at times he disappeared as well.
lol people still glorifying that one play
AJ made a le-clinching jumper in '99 but that didn't change the fact that he was always a below average PG who couldn't shoot. Love is a filthy rich man's Ryan Anderson. Nothing more.
Somebody please let Phil know that Jerry Buss is dead and Stern is no longer the commish...
