Nah!

Was the OP the guy who ate a sandwich and was on suicide watch or nah??
No.
New York is getting outscored by 3.2 points per 100 possessions with Anthony on the floor — the sixth-worst of any starting forward to play at least 30 minutes per game through 30 games this season. His defensive rating of 110.5 points allowed per 100 possessions on the floor is the worst among that same group of players.
Wow this guy is a piece of work, now he wants to stay in NYC and if the Knicks want to rebuild than he's listening. Such a crybaby.
How is he a crybaby? He's been professional throughout this ..he never asked for a trade or stated that he wants to leave NY..
Phil Jackson is acting like a 12-year old girl, as usual..he's a buffoon that has been embarrassing himself since retirement..
Melo says that if we so no it's cos we spend a lot of time on the internet.
Melo wanted to go to NY in the first place, it's his home city and all, I don't think he would ever explicitly demand to be traded away from there like he did with the Nuggets.
I do think people are wrongly hating Melo on reflex. Since about four years ago, he's chilled out quite a bit. He's a better play-maker than he gets credit for. , he's a better everything than he gets credit for. I wouldn't want him instead of LMA and likely not even in addition to LMA (say like Gasol and Green for Melo as a trade). But I have pretty good confidence that the Spurs would beat teams by easier margins than they currently are if they had Melo as their second option.
Melo was a heck of a performer in the Olympics the last couple times, tbh.
Would you do Parker and Green for Melo, tbh?
- Gasol/Dedmon
- Aldridge/Lee/Bertans
- Melo/Simmons/Anderson
- Leonard/Ginobili/Simmons
- Murray/Mills
would be pretty damn good
I only agreed to eating a sandwich if the Spurs somehow beat the Dublets in the WCF.
The bet was, IF the Spurs and Dublets had met up in the WCF last year, that if the Spurs won, I eat a real sandwich, and if GSW won, the guy (I think Splits) must pay me $100. Since the series never materialized it was a moot point.
No way would I trade two guards for yet another front-court player. Gasol would have to be part of any package. But I'm not sure I'd want that. The Spurs would have the best offensive front court in the league, but those guys would get in each other's way something fierce.
Leonard can easily be a shooting guard, he's got the quicks, way quicker than other previous SG/SF hybrids like Bowen or Elie or Elliott we had that were strong on defense.
That would make our D a lot better tbh. Melo as a PF is bad on defense, see David Worst last year.
Melo at the three with Gasol at the five is much worse defensively. Green's a better defender than Melo is.
And please don't confuse Murray's potential with is current reality. He's not a good defender. There's been talk recently about prioritizing his defensive development, but he's not good currently. The team would likely turn to utter defensively after this deal (because if the stats show anything is that Leonard is not holding up the D this year in terms of per-100 stats). The only saving grace is that Kawhi would be able to play more focused D with another scorer.
Murray-bad
Kawhi-great but having a down year
Melo-bad on the perimeter
Aldridge-really good
Gasol-manageable but would be worse with worst perimeter defense around him.
That's the recipe to having the Spurs drop to the four-seed. And potentially losing in the first round.
Y'all should just do double or nothin tbh lol
I wouldn't want Carmelo, butat the idea of Lala living in San Antonio, tbh..she only wants New York or LA, according to almost every report that has surrounded this story..
Where do you think Melo ends up?
I think he stays. He wants to be there, and the org has been losing political capital at an alarming rate. They seem to be tanking just fine with him, so you may as well hold onto him and look to move him at the draft.
No.
Spurs have no need for his ISO ball and his liabilities on D.
