Just curious as to how many people on this thread are SA residents? If so, are you going to games??

that would be a small enough sample size.
There's a lot of empty seats because season ticket holders aren't going to games. They are trying to sell their tickets last minute because the damn league is so watered down. They only show up vs. Cavs and Warriors.
No one wants to spend money to go see 23 of the 30 NBA teams and I'm being generous with that number. Blame the imbalance across the league.

I don't live in SA anymore so I can't attend in person, but watching on TV the seats near the court are almost always half empty or worse.
That is not good for the team and for home court advantage.
We need to find a way to give those seats to people who actually show up, rather than leaving them empty when some rich season ticket holder doesn't show up.
There's some truth to this. The empty seats in ATT are embarassing for a 60 win team. And as for them showing up for the playoffs....not necessarily. I remember a couple first round series I saw in person a few years back (Lakers and Jazz I think) and I remember the tickets being cheap as and plenty of seats were still open...
That doesnt explain a significantly better showing from Rsptors, Cavs, Warriors, thunder etc fans though.
Still waiting for a link to this poll

When a 38-0 Home record don't motivate you,
, or even potentially Tim Duncan's LAST home game....
.. and even rivals' mothers clown you
there's a problem.
But but..I'm a triggered mod that's too coward to show my bacon filled fatass![]()
spurs may very well have the worst home crowd out of all playoff teams. easily in lowest tier among playoff teams.
when the spurs crowd gets free shirts... what, maybe 20% wear them?
Not enough X's on the shirt size
Raps are Canadian, and Canadian sports fans seem to be more involved. See Blue Jays and throwing beer on babies. Golden State and Cleveland have the two biggest stars in the game. Boston has always been a great sports town. Majority of American cities are pretty limp in fan support, though. They'll attend games, sure, but it's more out of something to do than passion for the team. Lakers are the gold standard here. Even when they were dominating, fans didn't give a .
Doesn't explain OKC, Utah, MIL, even indiana has a better showing. These are far worse teams.
Heck, Leonard's been consistently hitting top 7 merchandize sales since 16. Don't know if you've observed it, but he's far more popular in LALA land than San Antonio.
I don't disagree with the idea that its a casual and bandwagon sport in general though. I'm just saying relative to the spurs success, they're extremely underwhelimg even compared to other mediocre teams.
Heck Atlanta managed to get a College game like Atmosphere in their playoff games last year...Atlanta Hawks!..
