There are actually ad-free streams now. The reddit page tells you how many ads there are. Pick the one that says "0".

I used to watch Streams all the time...or I should say used to be able to.

Now they are all filled with pop-up boxes covering up the stream.
Is there a trick in minimizing, closing these or am I just totally dense?

Splits linked to the subreddit up there... they usually link to the streams with minimal popups. I can't link you to one since the threads only come up during the games, but their threads show you the number of popups to expect. I know the ones you're talking about though... there's like 34534535 pop ups. those links haha
