Without Kawhi gutsy 3rd quarter on pure will, we would have never had a chance on this game.

Two consecutive years, game 5, biggest game of the season, at home, tbh..

He just isn't a reliable offensive player anymore..great role player, though, to be fair, he has developed nicely in that facet of the game..
You're telling me you don't enjoy fadeaway baskets against the Eric Gordons of the world? I thought you liked post play

Dude. Enough. Lots of fail in this thread. And a bunch of ignorance too.

He has a monster game if some of his shots fall. Sometimes they just don't go down. As it was he had 18, (20 if that tip in counted as it should have) he fought down on the blocks the whole game. Played great defense and logged heavy minutes. He is our one reliable big. And btw, wtf happened to Dedmon? He's basically gone from starter to mop up duty.

I for one, AM NOT on the bandwagon trashing Aldridge.

Game 1 was an anomaly. They destroyed as a team and LA never got settled into that racetrack. Oh and 44% on 50 3s will kill every team alive.

How is he a great role player? The only legit skill he has on offense is rebounding. It's hard to function with someone this limited.

LA sure had his soft/ scared moments. Shooting fadeaways against Harden, missing Ft's in Ot and giving way too much on d when gaurding smalls at then 3point line.

Then you look at context of the game & realise he was usefull enough to help win the game. No Kawai or real playmakers to feed him the ball. Had some timely baskets in the 4th & he was relentless on the boards. Kept the ball alive on offense for the spurs. That tipin should of counted to help seal the win.

    4 down doesn't mean a 20 foot fadeaway.

He doesn't have much compe ion in that area. Defensive bigs usually have the essential skill of pnr though and LMA doesn't have that.

18 pts in 21 shots... this is a big we're talking about... 33% shooting soft floaters over Harden and Anderson...

    GTFO with that weak
Only weakness is your OP, tbh.

As i said, monster game if some of those gimmes drop. Pop always says sometimes they just don't go in. That's what happened tonight. He was more efficient than Kawhi the other night...and that's tough to do.

Btw, is it weak when your boy has 0 points through the first several games and 9 TOs, tbh?

I was going crazy watching him consistently settling against the guards of Houston, not to mention the layup he passed up in OT for a Patty missed 3. Also, could he be anymore deliberate. I've never seen him get the ball in the post and make a quick move.

    +1

I think he hustles his butt off on defense and on the glass but he's never gonna be the consistent second option we all expected him to be. With that said, he should stop taking those post fadeaways. His shots have to come from 1) open jumpers, 2) aggressive post-ups and 3) offensive rebounds.

He has improved dramatically on the boards and defense since his Portland days, tbh..if he loses 20 pounds and puts the work in to aid his athleticism(PEDs and training with Kawhi), which he should, he'll have the mobility to improve even more on D IMO, even at his age..

His offense is trash, of course, and I'd still rather see him get traded, but he's definitely been a high-end role player..
