GS can't take the record if they sweep. They can only take it if they sweep and win game 1 of the finals. Both them and the cavs have a high chance of tying it if they both sweep their series. In that scenario one of them will get the record. It sucks but it looks like the spurs will lose the record.
No, actually, my scenario is the Spurs take a game from GS and the Cavs lose game 1 as it's in Oakland. That's the best bet. That way the Cavs tie the record, but IMO they are likely to lose game 1, so if the Spurs can win a game, that would stop the Warriors from getting the record. If the Cavs win game 1, good on them, but I'd say the Warriors have the best chance of winning game 1 as it's on their home court. Spurs gotta try hard as heck to win game 4, not just for that, but just so they don't get swept.

I really would hate to be swept by this bunch of ers. I would play Kawhi just to avoid that.

^ Sometimes people get scared of simplistic/minimalist concepts. Argue things can never be that simple. Again Spurs weren't up big against Warriors in Game 1 because they were raining 3s and Warriors were just missing shots. They were dominating all aspects and Kawhi was the foundation. Zaza realized that and took matters into his own "feet".

This. The game 1 domination prior to Kawhi's injury was not sheer luck. The Spurs were flat-out dominating the Warriors in every aspect of the game.

At this point, is it that kawhi still isn't feeling good or is it more that regardless of how he felt he still won't play because we're down 0-3.?

i really want him to play but feel so bummed out that he probably wont. If Spurs would have somehow won game 3, I wonder if he would still not play game 4.

i believe this would be the only way an NBA team would come back in a series after being down 0-3. Having a key player out for the first few games and then them coming back game 4. But it's still tough obviously because at that point you have no margin for error.

But what Pachulia can’t tolerate and what he wishes Spurs coach Gregg Popovich would have considered when he fanned the rage of so many fans by deeming the 33-year-old a dirty player and even comparing the play to “manslaughter,” are the social media threats to his family that have left them all shaken. While Pachulia was hesitant to share too many details, the situation was serious enough that security guards were deployed to the entrance of his childrens’ school in the San Francisco Bay Area as a precaution.
“I don’t blame everything on Pop, but what he said had a lot of influence (and) you had a lot of people where, unfortunately, you can’t control what everybody’s intelligence is,” Pachulia, who has an eight-year-old son, a seven-year-old son, and a four-year-old daughter with his wife, told USA TODAY Sports on Sunday. “(Fans) just hear the message, and it’s, ‘Ok, Pop said so and now let’s do this.’ It’s just wrong. You’ve got to think, and realize. Threaten me, but don’t threaten my wife or say something about my kids. It’s just wrong.
“Me as a person, as a man, I don’t mind dealing with it. But I hate to see my family deal with it. My wife and my kids who have nothing to do with it, who are very innocent. ... I just hate my family going through that. They don’t deserve that. … I’m not blaming everything on (Popovich), but he was a very big part of it.”

Yeah, dude should think before he purposely injures another player at such a grand stage of the NBA.

lol, trying to compare hard screen to spraining someone's ankle, lol. Also why are your star players still in game late? They have been doing that every game so far. Again setting hard screens/fouls to chest area is fine by me in playoffs. Going high (head) or low (knees, ankle, feet) is not.

Mike Brown: Dewayne Dedmon screen on Stephen Curry was illegal

"I know he's not a dirty player. I'm not going to try to mess up his reputation, but I feel like that was a dirty play," Curry responded to ESPN. "Luckily no one was hurt."
He said he didn't realize how egregious the screen was until he saw a replay the next morning.
The incident occurred with 4:36 remaining in Saturday's Western Conference finals contest. At the time, the Warriors had a 17-point lead.

Ah the off season, when the 2 weeks a year posters retire again, when Dale returns to call us pussies and assholes because we lost with scrubs. When cookie cutter, factory produced trolls like Sportstalk Joe up there are relegated back to their lonely existence and they realize another year went by and they got nothing for it.

Meanwhile everyone else will talk about basketball.

God damn I haven't hated a team this much maybe ever. It's all good for them to set illegal screens, throw players to the ground, kick opposing players in the crotch, and intentionally injure other players, but when someone else gets physical with them they have to while and about it as if they they're innocent? them and that franchise.

This is ridiculous. If Kawhi can play and wants to play, let him play. Take it one game at a time. You never know, someone has to be the first team to come back come back from a 0-3 deficit.

Wow. All that is dead on. What a bunch of heads. Pathetic team. I think they have now moved to my top of my list. I don't want Lebron to win anymore Championships as I still believe that 2013 one doesn't belong to him, but it. The king needs to crown these mother ers in the finals.

Unlike the pathetic ass Spurs, the Celtics have stormed back after being down 20+ in Cleveland without their superstar. Just shows how trash the Spurs are.

Celtics did it without a player that only impacts offensive side of the court.

Record is still intact. Celtics win game 3 at the buzzer. Spurs gotta win game 4. Can't go out like es and get swept.

Yes, injuries are part of the game such as the David Lee injury last night (which I can accept). But Kawhi's injury was no fluke, it was a deliberate/dirty act by Zaza.
    Well said!

Again can't compare the 2 - IT only impacts offensive side, Kawhi impacts both sides. Celtics still have their defensive stoppers.

Regardless, they're still way overmatched and playing on the road after getting destroyed by 50 the previous game all while missing their best player. That's impressive stuff. Spurs can't even keep the score respectable. This team's supposed best players outside Kawhi lack heart and backbone; when 40-year old Manu is your best player you have problems.
