    I'd happily trade 29 + Kyle to Orlando for 33 and 35.

That'd give Orlando three 1st rounders, and us a chance to get two bites at the apple in the same range.
Anderson for the 33rd and 35th picks, maybe but Anderson and the 29th for 33 and 35 is a silly trade for the spurs.

29th for 33 and 35 might be an option for the reason that you mentioned, consolidating picks the the Magic and gives the spurs two solid picks (Bell and Frank Jackson would probably be my picks)

Signing 2nd round picks would require cap space or money from exceptions. I don't think it's likely they go this route.
As poor of an idea that I think this push to trade Kyle for a second-rounder is, the money is not a big deal. Most second-rounders take min deals, and those will be available long after cap space and other exceptions are used. The proposed trade would save the Spurs quite a bit of cap space ($2.5M-4.5M)

Sure, unless they pull a KJ McDaniels and sign the tender.

If the Paul thing gains traction, I'd like to see them try to entice the Clips to do a sign and trade. Pau (assuming opt in) + Green + 29 is better than losing CP3 for nothing, especially since Danny is still an asset. This would allow Spurs to conserve the full MLE and LLE to round out a decent roster.
Spurs could do Pau + Forbes + 2018 1st in a S&T that would allow the Spurs to offer a contract starting around $30.4 million to CP3 and keep Green+ have access to the full MLE and LLE. Simmons is likely gone because they could only use the MLE to keep him but Manu might return to ring chase with CP3 in the fold or Milutinov and Hanga both come aboard. I think PATFO would hate to lose Green and CP3 would probably agree, i'm sure that Green has earned Pauls respect over the years as his primary defender and his rep as one of the best 3 and D players in the NBA.

Clippers get Pau, who they could potentially flip later in the season to a playoff team, and a 1st rounder (which is rare in S&T's. Obviously that's not great for them but it's certainly better than nothing.

    PG-CP3-Murray-Parker
    SG-Green-Manu
    SF-Leonard-Anderson
    PF-Adridge-Bertans
    C-Lee-FA/1st Rounder (Bell?)-Milutinov
-(he seems like he will return, despite hopefully opting out of his P.O)

would prefer Bertans to start at PF and LMA at center in that scenario. CP3 would have 3 elite shooters surrounding the pick and pop with Aldridge and gives Leonard a lot of space to operate as well (CP3 shot 41% on 5 3's a game last season)

Pop loves Fathead. You'd have to put a gun to his head to trade his poor man's BoBo.

They ususally keep it since nobody wants it. The percentage of players drafted 29th who even suit up for an NBA team is pretty small. That's why the Spurs usually use it on a foreign player they don't have to bring over or pay. And the compe ion for those foreign players is getting hot these days since the Spurs were so successful scouting that market.
Yep, good take. The chances of anyone outside the lottery having a productive NBA career is really small, in actuality.

You think 29 alone gets it done for 33 and 35?

It would depend on whether they like someone in that range that may not be there four spots later and would be willing to through in the second pick to make it happen.

I don't like the idea of trading Anderson +29 to move back in the draft. Anderson actually played well last season and had a strong postseason despite him being generally hated on ST. I expect him to continue to improve in year 4 and Pop clearly likes his game so I doubt that they would move him in that scenario.

I agree; Clips probably have too much ego to do it, but considering they have zero picks in this coming draft, one would think they'd welcome a future 1st.

Yes. This would be obvious to anyone who is not a troll.
