There's a half dozen or so s here who talk that plantation non-stop. If it's true, then Horry and RJ were two of the best paid slaves in history. Every one of the ones who talk like that would dance like Mister Bojangles for a shot at that kind of money.

Imagine the nerve of an employer saying, "If we're going to pay you millions of dollars, we expect you to do things a certain way." It's inhumane. Call the UN, we've got a plantation going here.
About 90% of Spurs fans don't understand basketball or have any clue about what they are talking about. It's just a ball going into a basket, name calling, and coaching from a distance. Nothing should surprise anyone. The lack of common sense is astonishing and just to take a picture you can read the majority of posts in this website.

Most of the Spurs fans don't understand how difficult it is to ring at this level or what it takes to get it done. I don't claim I understand everything that goes in there either but I have enough common sense to figure out it takes a lot and the FO probably knows what they are doing to win for so long.

Of COURSE they know what they're doing. The best winning percentage of any team in a major sport for almost two decades? Yeah that's an accident.

All those super-star players who supposedly don't want to come here? They're playing for other teams, and almost all of those teams are chronic losers. None of them are as consistently good as the Spurs have been.

Let's say SuperCam is right, and SA is a plantation. What that means is that the slaves that play here actually benefit from the plantation system, because it makes them into winners. I think he better come up with another line of bull , because that one doesn't sound too good, when you think it all the way through.

era of old rich whites running the league like auerbach riley jackson and Poop are coming to an end tbh. Players with branding and entrepreneurial aspirations are running things now. LeKing empowered the players and showed them just how much leverage they have to shape the league as they see fit. Players want and will play with their friends and olympic teammates and recruit them to form superteams. the backlash from white run media means nothing anymore. and they sure as aint going to play for no overseer telling them to get over themselves

management can either hope to draft multiple HOF players with picks in the mid to lower first round which is what PATFO has been riding for twenty years or they have to adapt to the way things are run now.

spurfan keeps telling me about keeping cap open for 2018, but not who spurs will convince to come here, or how. is super introvert kiwi gonna be in their ear? lma, who wants out? cause PATFO walking in some hotel conference room to talk about how good they could look alongside patty bertans and murray if they give in to a system isn't gonna sell .

Pop's called it a dictatorship himself. So that agrees with what RJ/Horry are saying.

Manu, Tim and Tony all have 2 more les if Horry doesn't the bed in 04' and 06'.

Also, Tim was dealing with plantar fasciitis & ankle problems a good portion of the time when Horry was here. That probably factored into TD resting or " not working as hard".

Was Horry guarding Derek Fisher In 2004? Was Horry guarding Dirk in 2006?

Horry wasn't doing anything. If he showed up it would have given the Spurs the bump they needed.. like in 05'.

Horry has the most undeserved ego in NBA history. Seven rings will do that to a lot of people though.

Robert Horry talking about having to turn his game down to be in the system. His stats sucked; the Spurs system added three to four years to his career. That's why nobody signed him after the Spurs dumped him. And he still could've played well enough in the Spurs system for a year or two or more longer. Dude just has no perspective, or he's going street and talking big.

Horry was pretty bad in '04 but in '06 you have to blame Pop's decision to go small against the Mavs.

I did laugh when Horry said Spur fans in '04 were calling him a spy for the lakers due to him sucking. I remember in '04 on spurs report and Spurstalk people were calling Horry a spy. It's evident Horry must have read both spurs message boards at the time.

Why does that matter? In '04 Horry shot 23% that series (16% from 3). In '06 he shot 25% (14% from 3).

Not exactly the kind of stats that give him a reason to blame anyone else for not winning.

Lol@Robert Horry... ing about Pop and F.O. even though he wanted to play for them additional years. They told his lazy, out of shape ass to off when his contract was up (as did every other team in the NBA) and yet THE SPURS are the ones who have a problem.

Yes Robert, to play for one of the most successful franchises in professional sports, you have to come to work everyday, respect the game, display good sportsmanship and put winning above all else.

He does talk about Pop's micromanaging and how if a guy got out from the scripted play Pop would lose it. I suppose only Manu can get out of a script...

OTOH I understand the discipline required. Maybe being that strict is what allows someone from the end of the bench to be plugged in and win a regular season game..

So you took that literal? Wise up please.....every coach worth his salt will impose his ideology. Good thing for us we might just have the best of all time in evaluating and handling talent/egos! Be grateful......

Funny how he says "this [euphemistic slave] era" is coming to an end... and he doesn't bother to mention that the current NBA Champions are coached by Kerr - another, "do it my way" type of guy...

It's like "no duh Sherlock" teams need strong leadership from the bench. But he equates that to being a plantation-style system... It's his prerogative to believe what he wants to but geeeesh, ignorance in our society is getting out of hand.

Strong leadership doesn't mean micromanaging players which is what Horry is accusing Pop of. I don't think the same applies to Kerr. His players mention all the time the freedom he gives them.
