he also wasn't the first, or even second option, with defenses game planning around him

Giannis will never learn to shoot. He will never be able to translate his regular season success to the playoffs with such a huge flaw, tbh.

When you are playing teams on the regular season that don't specifically adjust their schemes to stop you can get away with scoring 109 pts of 115 in the paint. That won't happen agaisnt good teams on the playoffs, tbh.
I remember when everyone said Kidd would never learn to shoot, LeBron would never learn to shoot, Blake would never learn to shoot, etc. Giannis is 22. He has plenty of time to learn to shoot, and I'm sure he will. He has the work ethic to do so.

Kidd only became a good shooter when he turned into a role player and shot only wide open shots. Lebron and Blake's shots never looked as broken as Gianis', tbh.

Two years ago it seemed everyone was promoting the same type of hype about Anthony Davis. Way too early to have this discussion. We haven’t even seen Kawhi play yet, lol, and certainly not against the Greek freak.

This happened last season and there were these same talks about trading Kawhi for giannis and Kawhi went on to have a monster season.

No, he doesn't. Just stop it. AD has been putting up similar stats for a while now and no one is saying he has goat potential.

Kawhi is still developing as well, I wouldn't trade him for giannis. Kawhi on the bucks would be putting up god like stats too.

Giannis also doesn’t have a skilled teammate like LMA ing about touches. Even if Kawhi could care less it has to be in the back of his mind somewhere. LMA makes the Spurs better but Kawhi will sacrifice touches.

A little OT here but is it fair to compare Kawhi to a player that's 6'11/7ft tall? Sure, they play the same position but at the end of the day size matters.

Imagine not drafting him. Cleveland took Bennett with the number 1 pick that year.

Why would either team make the trade at this point. Both think they have superstar with some upside.

Its fair if Kawhi is as good as he (we all) thinks he is.

From a BBall perspective. Do you take 6’8” LBJ or 6’11 Giannis? You get my drift?

I think KL2 is the better player. By far. All you guys thinking about this are selling Kawhi short (thinking he isn’t as good as he really is) Numbers dont say everything. Exhibit #1 Westbrook.

Yeah, but LBJ is a GOAT level talent. I still think it should be a point of consideration.

I am going to get killed for just asking this but....

Would you trade Kawhi straight-up for The Greek Freak?

    Antetokounmpo

    Better athlete

    Younger

    Kawhi-like work ethic

    Leonard

    Perfect work ethic

    More accomplished

    More skilled

    More injury prone??
Interesting question, Bill. It is interesting primarily because Giannis doesn't currently have much of a shot. If he did, he would be in GOAT discussions already and, therefore, untouchable. Because we don't know if he could ever develop a legitimate outside shot, the trade is a bit of a gamble. Kawhi's current health issue makes his end of the deal a question mark, as well. I like rooting for Kawhi. His stoic character has almost as much to do with that as his play. I like the quiet assassin.

Leonard had 5 or 6 game winning baskets last season, coming up super clutch. I have not seen Giannis do this yet.

Either it has to be proven without a shadow of a doubt that Leonard is injury prone or Antetokounmpo has to get at least within' sniffing distance of becoming a mediocre shooter for this to become a legit discussion. Also, the 3.4 age differential is largely irrelevant considering Leonard is only 26.3.

A little OT here but is it fair to compare Kawhi to a player that's 6'11/7ft tall? Sure, they play the same position but at the end of the day size matters.
Since it effectively allows you to play bigger than you are, within' reason, length is more important than height and they both have 7'3'' wingspans.
