Wasn't Kawhi Good Money when he went to China this past summer? So the injury happened after that?

I remember him giving an interview this past summer saying the ankle was fine 2 n a half weeks after he went down against the Warriors. Was he rehabbing to hard? Did he injure the quad in China?

I defend the resting of players all the time but this one game a week treatment for Kawhi is absolutely ridiculous. He either can play at least 15-20 minutes a night or he can't.

Did the Spurs spurn him or something?
Not that I remember. Has to be some kind of personal beef, he's been talking like Robert Horry lately.

After a few weeks, he's not only still on a 15-20 mpg limit, but now unable to play unless there's multiple days between games . . . barring a drastic turnaround relatively soon, it feels like we're headed for him being shutdown for the season at some point.

As long as there's a guarantee of him returning to form, I'd take it over this. In a sport of rhythm, you can't attain it with a rotation in a constant state of flux.
Downgraded from probable to out. There's got to be soreness or inflammation. Sacramento is a bad team and there's no reason to risk him but what worries us that there's no linear and increased minutes progression like there has been with Tony.

As hater would say: dude really can't wipe his own ass yet.

I'm sure he didn't wanna come to the silver n black when he was actually good. Maybe he wanted to do like so many players n tried to suit up wit the Spurs a few years after his injuries when he was washed up n old.

Yeah, Kawhi shouldn't have returned at all. Its clear watching him out there he's not ready. He gets gassed and isn't nearly as mobile seeming as last year.

I'm being patient with this bs injury Kawhi has but if he's not playing at an MVP level in April then I see this guy going down a Derick Rose route.

Gotta say I'm getting seriously worried about Kawhi.

Spurs by 8 if Pau plays.

Welp time to consider shutting him down then for the year. Not like our team is winning this season anyway. Who quoted spursistan yesterday saying it was a non issue. This is worrisome.

Poop is just being a got, imo. If this were 10 years ago, before all this minutes management bull became Poop's schtick, Kawhi would be playing 40 mpg right now.

I have changed my tune on that. Kawhi is the franchise and he's different but how Pop allowed a rehabed Tony to get back on the court at 36 years old long before he was scheduled too, last game playing 26 minutes. How often Manu has played this season sitting only on occasional B2B, but playing in games Manu feels like he can play, sometimes playing 26 minutes at 40 year old.

Anderson returning from his injury sooner than the 3 weeks, playing 24 minutes when Pop initially said 15, then playing in a B2B.

Plus I remember that season that 38-39 year old Manu busted his left nut, returning to play sooner than expected looking like nothing happened.

Least season Lamarcus had a heart arrhythmia and after taking care of himself medically he was playing minutes like nothing happened.

This Kawhi thing is unlike anything previously seen, took longer to heal than Pop and the medical staff thought and Kawhi himself was holding himself out earlier in the season.

Nope this isn't a Pop shtick. The Spurs medical staff are being careful for a reason. If this thing recurs they probably have to shut him down for the season bc of his slow healing initially.

Tendonopathy is a chronic condition and there's a good chance it follows him for the remainder of his career.. He needs to shut down for the season. There's zero reason he should be out there playing for a team that has literally zero chance of winning a championship and a good chance of being bounced in the first or second round.
