Still a better choice than a teacher tbh.
It is their job though.
It is not the teachers' job.
Still a better choice than a teacher tbh.
So because they are not Kyle Grifiin, they have no right to defend themselves.
Kyle Griffin or cop is the parameter for defending yourself.I'm sure if they wanted to have a career in law enforcement, they'd be on it.
Nothing in life is guaranteed. At least with my idea they have a shooter's chance. Under your plan they are ed.Besides the fact that it's just a idea overall, it's also not a guarantee that they'd be succesful in stopping the shooter.
That's a big classroom you are envisioning.shootout and cross fire on a packed place with hundreds of people. Umm what could go wrong?

"Shooting at Maryland High School" being the most important part of this story, gun nuts can't wait to point out an aspect that bolsters an argument no one ever denied.
School cafeterias could easily have that many.
Have you ever been to a school, Chris?
All teachers wouldn't have to be armed and trained. It's a voluntary type thing. It's not difficult train someone to shoot and they don't get to carry on campus unless they are accurate. That goes without saying.
It's voluntary. It's also something that will like never occur in their career. They would still be teachers.
Nobody is saying it's a guarantee.
If they are armed and trained then there isn't a significant difference in having them confront the shooter than the guy that did today.
That's why it would be voluntary role for teachers and not mandatory.
Why are you bringing Kyle Griffin into this? Odd.
Perhaps address my legit points instead of stalling for cover from someone else.
Why not just let the professional security officers do their job and let the teachers do theirs?
Shooting across a cafeteria or at ridiculous distances with many people around could probably be part of the training. I mean certainly you do not want take a shot like that.
So you couldn't defend students in a crowded cafeteria?
That's pretty useless tbh.
Unless you are close enough to take a shot then that goes without saying. You can't shoot across a crowed room like a lunatic.
So just let the actual lunatic shoot everyone in the cafeteria?
What's the point?
If you wanted to stop them in that situation you'd have to position yourself to get a safe shot. You can't shoot across a large room that's crowded.
The point is you are discussing one scenario. There are other scenarios.
But did anyone give thoughts and prayers to the victims?
Professional security is continuously trained for multiple scenarios. Leave it to them.
that, they can talk about moar guns this time.
you mean to tell me a campus police officer actually did what he was paid/trained to do???![]()
lol. Back when I was teaching, I made a 3 year stop in a small 1A school in West Texas. During lunch, we heard a gun shot outside. A kid, not a particularly bright one at that, had pulled a .22 out of our FFA teacher's truck and shot himself in the leg. There were probably 30 guns pulled in 3 minutes since just about everyone had a shot gun in their truck. it. Let's just arm the students.![]()
