No, my Spurs fan friend, there is no chance unless he steps on the court in MVP form. Remember when Michael Jordan decided to play baseball for a season and then tried to come back and struggled? Kawhi is great when he is in shape and engaged, but he hasn't even been playing 5 on 5. Expecting him to step on the court and be an MVP performer is unrealistic.

This is merely their cover story so he won't look any worse than he already does when he is not sitting on the bench come playoffs.

I think the only chance Kawhi really comes back, is that if magically the Spurs start playing like 2014 and are a threat to win the championship.
In that case he would want to "come back" so that his value is not diminished.

But the spurs would have to get past the first and second round for Kawhi to start worryng about him.

So far, he´ll do whatever he can to make his absence notable. For a player tagged as a product of the System, that System´s success it´s his demise.
