Being a Spurs fan that follows the rest of the NBA on Twitter and other forums is like living in an alternate universe, tbh you watch all Spurs games and follow their moves, the coach signs Mills and Gasol to 100 million, he guards Durant with midgets, etc, but to the rest of the world that watches 1 Spurs game per month, he's this funny genius who can take any player and turn them into a superstar in 2018..

How dare anybody question any of his moves?
I think the elephant inn the room is that everyone wanted to ask about Kawhi but they were probably informed beforehand that Pop would only answer strict questions about the actual games freezing everyone bc they had no actual questions about the game. Someone asked in general about strategy and Pop deflected. I think at that point they all froze. Should send TGY he has some good questions and isn't afraid.

So many pussies in the media. Senile old does whatever he wants and they don't say anything about it. Wish the media had the balls to do what they did with Trump during the election.

Didn't that cow Doris Burke try to buck up to Pop that one time? I can't turn on Pop for his ty politics as much as I would love to. Only thing I'm worried about is maybe he's lost his passion for coaching or basketball in general. He created this culture of media silence and Leonard is taking advantage of that for whatever reason. Pop will more than likely take out his frustrations on the referees at this point as opposed to Media.

He's right about the Gatorade stuff though... there should be some sort of freedom if you don't want to promote obesity, tbh...

That’s he strangest thing of all, I can almost understand Pop having full control of the SA media but even the national reporters don’t question him?!? Seriously?

Kawhi Leonard is going to be coach Pop's Deron Williams. He's not used to losing, if you look back at his career he's not lost too many times in the first round. He certainly hasn't gotten his ass kicked the way he's going to in this one. He needs to be where other coaches have been in their careers when they lose talent. Some of these decisions the front office has been making recently are head-scratchers and they need to see the results of that. Even if Kawhi was there they still wouldn't make it past the second round I don't think.

I think it's too late for another rebirth, tbh..he's 69 years old, I can't see him adapting and changing his ways again like he did in 2011, it's an unrealistic expectation for a nearly 70-year old man who has already accomplished everything possible in the NBA..

I think he's just riding it out until team USA..

I tired to tell everybody PATFO window is 2020..

Maybe that’s why Kawhi wants out..the injury issue plus being stuck in SA when everyone around him is gone..

But he had the 3 point going on in 2013/14, then he made some bad choices selecting horrible players and got rid of the 3 pointers to bet on the actual game which is pass pass pass pass and shoot if you didnt lose the ball.

Also lots of defeats had to do with horrible lineups and bad timing, we see that during the RS a lot, but he´s been doing that on the playoffs too, Patty on Durant, now Green on Durant.
That serie vs Clips when it went to 7 games and he benched Patty and Belli when they were hotter than fire.

After that McHale benched Harden the star and won the game 6 vs Clips.

Pop benched Duncan in 2013 who could have been battling Bosh for that rebound.

My point? Pop is done in the NBA, but can coach Team USA.

I've been around a few folks riding it out during the end of their professional careers. It often doesn't end well because their job role requires someone who doesn't have short-timer's disease. You can ruin your career in one bathroom wrestling match these days.

That’s what happens when you’ve been coaching for over 20 years. He’s need to retire and enjoy his last 5 years of life.
