Kawhi + Sixers makes me horny. But no, I would not do that trade. If Kawhi wants to go, we need draft picks. BS does not make us contenders right now and if it's going to be a few years down the road. I want us to get draft picks; Donovan Mitchen was drafted 13th last year, Kawhi was 15th, there is plenty NBA talent in the draft. The only players that make us contenders is currently injured, and that is Kristaps Porzingis.

It's hard to perform miracles when you have a bunch of g-league bums to work with, tbh.
And posters here think the players entering nba are even decent. Number 1 draft pick had to sit out yr 1 and most of 2 bc of no shooting. .. nba is such a joke
If kawhi wants out we need something in return. If Simmons is the best option u do it.
Trade Kawhi east where you don't have to face him til the finals and get back a triple-double caliber player. Easy answer.
If Sixers can get Lebron, trading Simmons for Kawhi makes a lot of sense, tbh.
Have you been seeing Simmons play this series? If the Sixers can get Lebron, a Lebron-Kawhi pairing makes a lot more sense than a Lebron-Simmons one.
Agreed, but that remains to be seen. If Lebron doesn't go to Philly my comment stands.
Simmons has had an awful series, but judging him on that is asinine after the "rookie" season he had.
Unfortunately not every bum Drunk picks up outside of a Greyhound station is as prodigious as Kawhi who leads all active players in postseason TS% & 3P%.![]()
Sure, but if the Spurs call the Sixers offering a Kawhi for Simmons swap there would be no laughing coming from the other side, tbh.
With no Lebron commitment they would. Kawhi hasn't played in a year, seemingly has some career-altering quad condition, and is a few agent in a year. No reason to trade away a potentially generational talent for a one-year rental of Kawhi who may not be able to play at a high level.
Kawhi is a top 3 player in the World who is only 26. All that speculation about Kawhi's injury situations, is just that: speculation. Sure, it is something to consider, and indeed it might end up being the deciding factor for them to ultimately say no. But to act like a Kawhi-Simmons swap would be no brainer denial from the Sixers' part is ing ridiculous. Kawhi >>>> Simmons, and with Simmons' huge, glaring defect I don't see him ever reaching the level of playing that Kawhi reached.
And one more thing: if Lebron sees Kawhi going to the Sixers, he will sign there. No doubt in my mind.
I'm not a fan of Simmons after watching him a bit more closely, sure he can pass, but it doesn't look like he can shoot, and he's not much of a scorer either, so I wouldn't want to trade Kawhi for him at all. If Kawhi was playing this season and didn't want to leave, I would hang up the phone if it was the reverse and Philadelphia called and made that offer. I wouldn't even laugh or anything, I'd just straight hang up the phone.
I wonder how Simmons would do if he was put on a team where he had to score. I think he'd do quite poorly and that team might not even make the playoffs. From the limited sample size I've seen personally, it looks like he needs to be on a team with scorers around him to be effective. If he had to be the primary scorer of a team, I think that team would struggle.
Pop better fix this because I don't want most of these scrubs that the Spurs would be looking at if he wants to leave.
I agree with you. However, this is just his first year. He will only get better in years to come.
I must be the only one that thought you meant John Simmons??
I'd rather have Tatum
Simmons is never going to be a shooter. I read that he shot zero threes in college and high school, in addition to the zero threes he's shot this year.
Simmons reminds me of a taller version of Murray
I don’t think a team like BOS is going to do a deal. Whether we believe it or not, they believe in their run and current group and don’t need to take any risks. If Kawhi fell in their lap, sure, but they aren’t going to get into a bidding war.
A team like PHI, or LAL/LAC or PHX is far more likely IMO. Unless we get some major news that Kawhi has been fully cleared medically and helps his value out, I don’t see a team like BOS taking the risk.
Philly would be re ed to do that (laughing on the other end of the phone). Kawhi is a superior player on both ends of the court.
If he sees the court...
The key is his health. Im hoping kawhi’s team clears him now that the season is over and there is no risk to him hurting himself going into contract years.
That would go a LONG WAY to upping his value big time.
