Yeah, you can budget things out for a regular season but budgeting for a playoff run, especially a long playoff run can be tough.

Eh, no surprise, the league is as boring as ever.
Big deal.
While you have plenty of idiots willing to s out thousands upon thousands of dollars for average to lousy tickets, I'll happily watch from the comfort of my home hassle-free.
I'll s out my money for the things I really want or need.
Not the finals, reading is fundamental ...
This. I paid good $ for game 7 of the WCF in 2000 during shaqobe era. Felt it was worth it because I knew we would win and we had not rang since 1988.
I was not in L.A. for the 2008-2010 Kobepau Lakers but paid good money to see them when they came to Dallas, including the come from behind Mavs game 3 win that ended the series before the Mother's day massacre.
IF were in La I would only pay for signature game moments, partly due to pricing/traffic (even though i make much more in 2000 but then i had no mortgage and no kids) and partly because I have a 4K Tv55 inch and 120 inch screen with a Sony projector ... pretty hard to enjoy the games better than I can at home.
I pick and choose a few games to go each year and I save $ and get a better experience, no outrageous parking, overpriced foods, corporate shills and annoying kids on their cellphones.
that, for 800.00 bucks the wife's gonna stay her ing ass at home
