What a great player and person.

The only Spur other than Tim Duncan to win Finals MVP!

There was this Kawhi guy with an ass for an uncle

Great read, the saddest part of it all is it truly does feel like the end of an era. Two more seasons and it’s likely Pop and Manu will be gone too. Enjoy it while you can.

Very un-Stephen Jackson-like take on why he left the Spurs.

He handled leaving the Spurs with a lot of class. I wish more players could be like Parker after a break up.

Great read! I am sure he's sincere in his gratefulness to Pop, the Spurs and the city of San Antonio, but I wonder if he writes such a thoughtful piece if we didn't go through the Kawhi Debacle.

So sad to see the end of the era. Inevitable. So glad to have been there for every year. Never be another team with such a great story as the Duncan Spurs.

Its funny how so many athletes, media members, and many others speak about Tony with hesitation b/c of the wife banging thing, but speak with such respect about other athletes who've done far worse like Kobe and Malone raping women.

Very cool way to end his time in SA before moving on to Charlotte.
I'll miss Pop screaming in his face and TP laughing and then Pop laughing, eventually.
Spurs would not have won so much without him. He hit so many timely and needed 4th qtr jumpers, teardrops and get ready for it.......
some big time clutch 3 pointers. 17 years is an amazing run for a point guard.

Thanks for the good times, TP!

Even the whole Eva/Erin thing was likely overblown.

Obviously, we probably will never know the full truth, but the only thing that was ever substantiated from reports is that Tony and Erin were sexting while they were each going through their divorces with Eva and Brent, respectively.

Still a ty thing to do to your teammate (who was and, by all accounts, a great guy and one of my favorite Spurs ever)...but if that's really all it was, it sucks that Tony had to spend the rest of his career as "the guy who bangs his teammates wives".

Those who jump to the conclusion that he actually did bang her generally just have an ax to grind anyway.

I don't think Tony is a saint but I have always felt the "Tony banged his girl/wife" jokes are pretty re ed. Not funny at all from a comedic standpoint.

meaning he should've retired? Yea I agree, but I definitely do not fault him for getting an other shot at playing.

Great read. It was interesting reading that he told pop to start murray.
    It went like this:

After another horrible game by Tony -

Pop: We need to talk Tony. Meet me in my office.

5 Minutes later...Tony walks in to Pop's office and sits down.

Tony: Hey Pop, I'm glad you asked to see me because...I think its time for Dejounte to start. He's earned it.

Pop: I agree. Thanks Tony. I forgot what I was going to say. See you tomorrow.
