Perhaps you jest, but Manu's retirement will have a big effect on sales....not quite the entire 'Mexican population,' but many folks from all walks of life. I was really hoping for one more year after that debacle of last season, but he's gone. Think it's really cool all the times you and your wife got to speak with him. One of my best friends knows him well and his phone has been ringing off the hook.
We're definitely going to be there in Springfield, MA when the day comes... might also make a quick trip to the AT&T on jersey retirement night

Idk, i felt we were possible contenders with Manu on the team. Still it will be fun to see this younger spurs team in action, if Derek White doesn't see much play though i will be pissed. I want to see what this guy can do with real minutes in the NBA, have a feeling he could be our ace in the hole.

I am pretty excited about the team too. I would have been more excited with a better Leonard trade, but there are a number of storylines that intrigue me. If PATFO scouted well, the Spurs could be a move from making real noise. Regardless, seeing a new guard rotation for the first time since 2012 is amazing. Seeing how Pop uses DeRozan and LMA will also be really interesting. I wish SA had gotten a better or at least more guaranteed first from the trade, but assuming Toronto looks pretty good, it'll be fun tracking two pick slots for the first time in 14 years. All-in-all, I think this is a really watchable season, even if we can't really expect the team to contend as is.

with the exception of pop, the entire championship era is over so it's time to move on to the next spurs age, so to speak. i am looking forward to the progression of the younger talent, towards seeing if there is anyone of the younger bunch that has the ability to be an all-star, to seeing how pop can coach at this level and in seeing whether or not derozan has anything to offer the team and if he can gel with LMA. it is a season where expectations will be lower than they have been in over twenty years, but it is also a year where most of the league is playing for second place anyway so at least there's that.
No Tim, Tony, and Manu.... Hard to stay interested..
