I like Tim Holland's Spiderman. I think he's the best live-action Spidey we've had. And even though those movies don't hold up, I can't totally dismiss the Tobey Macguire movies as crap because they (along with Xmen) are responsible for our current generation of comic book movies.
But what I meant was, Sony's deal with Marvel allows them shared production/profits so that Spiderman can be used in the MCU. Now they've shotgunned their own Venom-verse (which will eventually include a lot of other Spiderman villains if they continue) in hopes of blending in Tom Holland at a later date. But it isn't going to work. They're just going to up these characters instead of saving them for future Marvel movies.
