ESPN mentioned DeRozan as well. That's something new.

After reading this, I got the impression that Pops/Rc will not let him down. Spurs got a hungry player in Demar that’s out to be the best - a Spur with mamba mentality, who wants to win. No way FO will waste his prime. Dubs or no Dubs. They will make a run for it. Or Demar would feel betrayed and leave. Nope, FO will not make the same mistake to let a star player walk. Already our offense is starting to click with Demar on the helm. And with a few more tweaks and maybe some moves, Spurs can be a good defensive team again. It’s exciting what FO will finally do. Right now they’re assessing. It’s exciting to think what the final team would look like. GSG.

What a fantastic write-up. Especially, loved the immediate motivation he felt from the banners. The ending about the mural was awesome too.

What I find embarrassing to watch is that most of you were crying not to long ago and leaving the Spurs for dead... what did you think? that a franchise like the Spurs, the most successful in the last 20 years wasn't going to get something right out of the Kawhi-led mess? it stands to reason that there's nothing else like the Spurs' system out there so a player of DeRozan's caliber was most likely to work out just fine.

Now most of you are saying he's an MVP candidate. It's possible but I find that reasoning as flawed in its pure conception as saying the Spurs were dead already

The system works and that's what's important. We have become too spoiled to see any different. Tell that to a Mav, a Buck or a Sun's fan.

This board and this town are hungry for some one to love after being rejected by Leonard. DeRozen has the star ability to make that happen and if he shows a reciprocal love for the Spurs and SA he will become our newest HERO.
