The Nets wouldn't have interest. Nobody is trading for an athletically declining, 3 adverse, C sized big to play PF, in a league where 2 big lineups are on the verge of extinction.

The teams that would have interest, are the ones who are like this one: Desperately trying to attain or remain relevancy and/or can't attract stars in free agency. Maybe: Hornets, Mavericks, Heat, Trail Blazers, Wizards . . . I'm somewhat skeptical of the first 2, but in all cases, it would be because they don't have long term answers at C and would want the Spurs to take back the mostly bloated contracts of one of their C's.

I'm confident the Trail Blazers would do Nurkic, Harkless, 1st, but that's so bad that the Spurs would feel like they might as well keep him and see if he can adapt to aging in similar fashion as Duncan and Gasol.
I'd rather have another team allow him to age for 26 million next year and 25 million the year after that. Miami is interesting if you think Olynik, Johnson are worthy of being a part of a package. I thought the Nets were interesting because they have Dwight Howard on their roster this year. They are a club that wants a low post presence. Plus who is a Free Agent that is going there with all their cap space? KL, JB, KI, KT are not going there. Even guys like Wiggins and Towns are sown up to long term deals. What player with any kind of selling point or name could go to Brooklyn for them to sell to their fan base? LMA becomes a one year investment and then becomes an expiring contract asset the next year.

My question with Portland is whether they would really want him back. LMA would be a third wheel because Lillard and McCullom aren't giving up their shots. With how the Blazers are performing so far this season, I don't think they would want to mess with their chemistry.

LMA carried us last year when the 'Braying Jack Ass' quit on the team. Thankfully he has some help from DDR and Gay this season. He will improve his shooting and get back in the groove. Meanwhile he has been contributing in other ways. How 'bout those boards?

He's adjusting to a different dynamic and has been solid on D. His shot will start falling.

The guy literally came off the most successful season of his career in 2017 and demanded a trade because of his touches
yeah i'm a pretty big lma stan historically but there's no denying that was ugly...still, a lot of that rests on PATFO, it's telling to me how much trouble they've had keeping stars happy and how other players blossom outside the vaunted 'system'....

if aldridge really can't play with another star then you have to think he had something to do with kawhi's disenchantment. tho that was still mostly big money manipulating his family, i never got the impression he and lma clicked at all.

we traded tony parker, danny green, and nephew...ending with a team led by LMA, DDR, and Gay as arguably our mvp...imagine if someone told that to you in 2014 how much would change in 4 years

LMA is in a funk but he will shake it off. At least he is contributing well on the defensive end and getting boards at a career rate. I think he played more PF last year (i believe that is his preferred style) and he is having to play more center this year. Also he is getting shots but a lot of them come late with little time left on the clock, i think that's not allowing him to get a rhythm.

Olynyk is decent (don't know which Johnson you're referring to, but James isn't Spurs material and Tyler would be superfluous), but I'd rather see if Aldridge can adjust to aging and maintain relative effective into his mid-late 30s, than take on relatively big salaried, middling young veterans. They don't move the needle now or later.

The Wizards have Howard and the Nets are viewed as a progressive team (which is code for pace and space). No one is looking for a "low post presence". Unless you luck into a "unicorn", teams want 2 types of bigs: rim runners and floor spacers.

If and when no big free agent goes their, they can continue to do what they've been doing: being a dumping ground for dead money (and collect picks in the process), tender an offer sheet(s) and roll their cap space over to the follow off season.

The Trail Blazers have been trying to add a 3rd featured player since Aldridge left. I have no doubt they'd be interested but what they'd likely offer does nothing for the Spurs.

So you want to trade him for nothing then? A second round pick? A ty player? That’s even worse logic than your original idea.
U can get a decent role player for LMA... One that would fit with the current NBA... U are making up stuff completely different from what I'm saying to make urself sound like u have an argument

We shouldn't trade LMA when he's the team's best rebounder and we're so short of bigs. The exception is, if we could get an R&D specialist at center. R&D = rebounding & defense. A slammer in the middle would help the team, and if he only got 10pts a game, mostly on dunks and putbacks, that should be ok. (We've got scoring elsewhere.) Offhand, I don't know of such a player being available, but maybe there's one around.
He is the best rebounder by default... He is the only big on the floor most times

Pretty much, not to mention how many of those rebounds are from his own bricks

Keep saying he needs to be traded... But since I'm the messenger, no one wants to agree publicly
Let's hope he plays well enough Dec/Jan so that Portland takes him back.
